Photographic Memories

So many moments
I have failed to immortalize
Because my outlook
Tends to run bleak
Seems unfair
I should bust out the chisel
Exclusively
When moments refuse
To make sense
Because sometimes
Stars do align

I remember a winter scene
On a river
And the golden eagle
Floating above our naked winter
Hot spring soak
Recall howling wolves
Outside our tent door
While we trembled in ecstasy

Then there was
The leaping bobcat
And Sally's backseat
The adrenaline rush
And throbbing after pulse
Of a mountain goat stampede
And who would believe
But you

You were there
In the only memories
I seem to shake loose
Like I can't remember any
Moments before

    Very Nice Eyed!!

Thanks. My wife had been telling me to write something happy for a change. It doesn't come easy for me.

There really hasn't been too many things to be nice and happy about lately, but we all deserve happiness in our lives, so let's give the world the finger and kill them with kindness...
{sounds like something George Carlin would say, doesn't it?} ;)

on topic, I don't know why it is so hard for me to write something happy, it just is.

nice to know that I'm not the only one.

Yeah, like the poem alludes to, I tend to focus on what isn’t working out there, what makes me angry, etc. I appreciate the good things in life; I’m just not really motivated to write about them. It's also hard to write happy without sounding like a cheeseball.

I don't know about that. There are plenty of people that lean to the unhappy when they are being expressive. :geek:

(I tend to pour everything out eventually, but I don't put all of it out for other people to see.)
