This is one of my favorite speeches by this guy, all with regards to US Foreign Policy-- can't argue with the Metallica in the background either.

I agree, this is why men like RP/ Dennis Kucinich will never really get a chance to become President cause they'll say and do the things the establishment clearly doesn't want.

Actually his son Rand is running for Kentucky Senator. He is ahead in the polls as well. I'm liking the possibility of a future presidential run.
whatever happened to his push to end the fed?
what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?
"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank." - Barack Obama
when you told me 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em'
i was thinkin 'death before dishonor'
Yes, Rand would be pretty awesome... He's got youth on his side also, which I know a lot of people feel that age is Ron's biggest obstacle. If he wins the KY Senate seat, he could certainly be a viable candidate for president one day.
His push to End the Fed is stronger than ever... Well, maybe not end it, but at least EXPOSE it, in hopes of bringing it to an end. His bill to Audit the Fed ended up in the otherwise horrible new financial regulatory bill (that Ron himself voted against on principle, despite the audit provision). It has 317 co-sponsors in the House, and 31 in the Senate as a stand-alone bill. His book "END THE FED" did really well, and I believe is still on the Best seller list (although not nearly as popular as "The Revolution - A Manifesto"). For people who like his ideas, but are not all that sure how they are able to be implemented, I highly recommend picking up The Revolution-- it explains how closely personal liberty, sound money, and non-intervionism in foreign policy, and small government are intertwined and really do yield the greatest results.
RP and DK are called crazy because their solutions are fairly simple. People cannot wrap their heads around complex problems having simple solutions. Fine. But at this point, we've been trying complex means to an end for years with no progress being made. Can't we try simple-- just for once? It's like he says at the end of this speech: if he's wrong, nothing happens. If he's right, nothing good happens.

The Senate was supposed to vote on Bernanke's confirmation as Fed Chariman over a month ago, but the Senate has delayed this vote until a vote for a regular Audit of the Fed happens.
Not bad at all...
I would say that there is certainly a very active, convincing, and growing Libertarian-minded minority out there that is reaching neo-cons, independents, and blue-dog democrats. If you believe this philosophy of personal liberty and responsibility to be the roots of this nation, then I'd say we're making some baby steps anyway.
I don't know much about this guy Brown, and I don't think many others do either-- they just know that Congress is best closer to neutral than control being in the hands of either party.
i'm almost speechless...it saddens me that his voice (and kucinich's) are falling on deaf ears...i really hope this country wakes up and listens to their voices and get this country back on track
Dr. Paul is right on the money in some regards, mainly in his stance that the Federal Govt is too powerful, but I definitely don't buy into the libertarian/objectivist philosophy. I'm borderline socialist like Kucinich but I don't think, like he does, that Federal power should be expanded. If only we could get a candidate who speaks his mind like Paul and Kucinich but also believes in decentralized socialism so that me and 5 other people can vote for him/her.... :geek:
