Adios Juan. Don't let the door hit ya.

After another 8-8 season ends, Adios Andy. Maybe we can beat the Giants twice and watch them in the Super Bowl again.

Seems like we could use an offensive line coach...

huh? I thought if anything, the defense was doing ok....maybe I am wrong on that. But, seems to me the main problem is the offensive play calling. maybe one of you guys can clear that up for me - who does the offensive play calling?

The D is so vanilla. What the qb sees pre snap is the same he sees post snap. There were never any 2nd half adjustments or changes which leads to the other team figuring things out and making all these comebacks.

If O had shorter fields to work with, maybe they could score before they turn it over

    A few misc points

1 - anyone blaming the defense for 'losing' the pitt game is a complete and utter dip shit

2 - this organization is a mess from the top down right now. Reid has been a stabilizing presecence during his tenure...hate to say it, but it just seems like he's losing his grasp on things

3 - rich hoffman laid it out perfectly in his article this afternoon. reid gave castillo the DC job...and gave vick the QB job. those two errors alone are grounds for termination. can't argue those points (as I have said before). You know where I stand with Reid, but those two mistakes are difficult to overlook (always were, always will be).

4 - doesn't matter who coaches the offense or defense...or the head coach is. with vick as their QB, they will never win anything

5 - going to NFL games just isn't fun. best part about sunday was the weather. game was boring as shit. crowd sucks. Linc is weak. NFL product blows. I usually hit one game a year...just enough to remind me why I don't go more often. Spent the entire game I wishing I was on my couch.

6 - WTF happened to the Linc parking lots???????? Looks like they turned the Linc lots into a futuristic car wash with those solar panels. This is just the next phase in the city's plan to ban tailgating. You're kidding yourself if you don't think the tailgate ban is coming. Inevitable.

7 - Feels like they are 0-6. Still somehow 3-3 despite having an ass hole turnover machine at QB

8 - In spirit of the debate tonight...'FOLES AND BOWLES 2012'. I'm the Fixer and I approve this message.

and with the NFL Red Zone on Xfinity there really is no reason to go to sunday games. having this channel might be the best thing comcast has ever done. it is fantastic. basically watched the full end of the cowboys-ravens and raiders-falcons games on sunday along with eagles. and never have to watch a commerical fn fantastic.

agree 100%. I'd bet money that the channel was designed by gamblers (see what I did there?)

when the channel came out 3 years ago I instantly fell in love. It's one of the few good things about the NFL these days

We don't do commercials on the red zone!

My wife and I started throwing our arms up in the air and counting the TD's during the touchdown montage, yelling TOUCHDOWN every time, entertaining our 2-year old. He laughed every. single. time. Now that's a dork alert. :geek:

yeah....it sucks when they don't have time for montage. scott hansen hypes it up for like 2 hours leading up to it. a few weeks ago they didn't have time and he seemed so dejected

just saw this beer for the first time at wegmans tonight. definitely giving it a go this sunday just because:

there is a long list of reasons to call for his termination...but for the purposes of this conversation, not firing castillo in january after last year's atrocity is right at the top too. that was almost as stupid as hiring him in the first place. what a mess.

i can see him going to foles if they lose a couple off the bye. if they didn't have atlanta up next, he might do it now. of course, if/when it happens he'll almost assuredly lean more towards the running game to help the kid out like what he did with garcia in '06 and feeley in '02.......of course he should be doing that all along but...hey that's just another item on the list ;)

as much as i've ripped him, you have to feel bad for juan castillo. by all accounts he seems like a great guy and spent so much time with the organization. he just should not have been placed in this position in the first place. wish him the best of luck.

grand scheme of things for the birds is, record wise, they are about where i thought they'd be. so i can still (especially with a competent d coordinator) see them getting to 9 wins or so and that's what the giants had last year. now more than ever, the nfl is a parity driven league, so it's all about getting hot at the end. if they blow these next few games after the bye though...

who knows, maybe they win 9 or 10 games with the defense leading the way and the season ends the way season's always end around here---maybe todd bowels is the eagles next head coach. he is highly respected and interviewed for hc positions last year...

    agree on castillo.

disagree about potential optimism for this year though. unless an inept QB magically falls out of the sky and lands in eagles green.

I said 10 wins before the season started. They could still get there, but even if they do it doesn't matter since they aren't winning anything with vick.

    PLAY FOLES!!!

well, if you think they can still get to 10 games, then you actually do agree with the potential optimism. 9 wins won the division last year.

and there's obviously also the argument, based on a 13 year sample size (one of the longest in the history of the league), that they probably won't win anything if they get there because of reid (the only constant in that time frame).

if they lose the next 2 and the season appears lost, then he may go to foles. these next 2 games are not the kinds of spots you put in a rookie qb.

I think the giants only winning 9 games last year was an aberration. they had a ton of injuries. they were obviously a talented team that had won a SB just a few years ago with mostly the same core group. I don't think comparing this eagles team (assuming they win 9 games) to last years giants team, is worthwhile.

Reid has to shoulder the blame for failing to find a QB capable of winning it all. I still support him because I believe that he can find that player. however it will be difficult to argue if he does get canned after the disaster that is the michael vick era

lot of talent on this roster he has put together. kinda tough to compete for a title without a qb.

I have honestly grown tired of defending reid. For whatever reason I have become indifferent towards the entire organization

yeah after 14 years (especially the last 8 which are mediocre at best), i'd be tired of defending him too. gotta be tough at this point.

not fair to say he's been horrible for 14 years. We're not talking about ray rhodes here

I still like him as a coach. He just couldn't find the right guy to run his team. Would be nice to see him get a chance with foles

i didn't say horrible. i called the last 8 mediocre because they were. he's a decent enough coach....but he just drafted horribly on the defensive side of the football for about 10 years (after ray rhodes' players left), continues to make the same game day mistakes that he's made since 1999, took too long to recognize the importance of the wide receiver position, took too long to recognize the importance of the linebacking position, can't beat good teams (especially in the afc), made one of the worst coaching promotions in the history of the league, and hasn't won a playoff game since his last contract extension. other than that, he's awesome. i don't think he deserves a shot with foles next year.

I think a lot of the stuff you and other haters bring up is BS. His W/L record speaks for itself. He has put together mostly good teams. If they weren't committed to turds at QB then he may have won it all by now. Yes, that's his fault and ultimately may cost him his job.

And if they are going to replace him I find it hilarious that no one ever names replacements. Typical Philadelphia

"bs." nice retort. yeah, i can definitely tell you're tired of defending him. but if you'd like to take a stab at defending all of that, i'd be happy to engage you.

and i am not a hater at all. i liked him up until about 3 years ago. i just can only put up with so many seasons of mediocrity.
