My friend and I are having a debate about PJ's "Yellow Ledbetter" and Jimmi Hendrix's "Little Wing". I have tried to tell him that Yellow Ledbetter is loosely based on and inspired by Little Wing but he refuses to believe me. Does anyone know where I can find evidence to back up my claims. I would also like to hear what you have to say so he and I can put this debate to rest....Thanks

I think it's a quote from his "60 Minutes" article from Guitar World. GW picks a guitarist then they select "an hour of music that rocks my world". Each song has a comment with it and the one for Little Wing was somethin along the lines of "YL is my homage."

I found this lookin for it. Whoa!!

i remember something in GW years ago about PJ and Mike said he pretty much stole Alive from some Kiss song but it's ok because they took it from a Doors song....

  • Assuming your friend has actually heard both songs and still argues that there is no connection whatsoever between the two...I would say he is dunderhead and probably will never be convinced. Or possibly he is deaf
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

'alive' solo was stolen from kiss' 'she' (alive ii version) which was ripped from the doors' 'five to one'.
