Have you forgotten the winter just 2 years ago? MUCH worse than this!

Anyway, at least we should get a break from those omnipresent chem-clouds that the military graffittis the sky with on most days... I have photos that I took up in Runyon Canyon Park in the 90s. When it was clear, the sky over the L.A. basin was deep, almost dark, blue. Gorgeous!! I have not seen the sky look like that even once in the past 25 months since moving back here. So depressing.

Its complete craziness. The news people said earlier that people should "move safely to the basement or a bathtub." I dont know too many people that have basements in the L.A/O.C area. Maybe East L.A.....

    Totally unrelated, sorry.

but this is awesome. Somebody else has a picture with Ron Jeremy. He participated in a porn debate on one of my community college's campuses and I attended...3 hours later, I shook the mans hand....and later washed mine.

He has the worst tan ever. He was wearing crocs, baggy slacks, and a hawaiian shirt with, of course, the chain in the chest hair.

Second batch of lightning today here is SF going on right now.

I *love* this, as I really miss those east coast, late afternoon, summer thunderstorms.

Plus, the rain washes all the filth off the Mission streets ... ;)

no but norm is not enjoying all this inside time...and neither am i
  • It had been calm for a couple of hours yesterday evening when the electricity went out in my 'hood!
Gah! It was dark and cold out, so I really had no interest in leaving the house to run errands. It was too early for sleep time. I'm one of those people who is never bored...

...But the electricity stayed off for over 3 hours, and I was bored! Almost went bat-shit crazy by the end. My 'emergency preparedness kit' consists of a small battery-free flashlight: It needs to be hand cranked almost constantly in order to be able to see anything with the light.
Also, I have a small gas heater in my living room. But I won't turn the gas on because the smell gives me morning sickness. So the temp was down to 63 degrees farenheit this morning. If anyone knows of a charity lending out electric heaters, let me know.

I must live and work in a calm area. We're never hit hard by the weather. It was windy, and rainy, and we got hail yesterday and that was about it. No power outage, nothing. I love it. Though, i like when the power goes out for a little bit. I just turn on the gas heater and read by candle light! This is my favorite weather!

I had the power go out twice for about a minute each time and that was after a huge hail storm...and it rained for most of the night

    I'm glad it's over: D

Tee Hee! January is typically the rainiest month, so there's no surprise here.
The snow on Mount Wilson from last week's precip is beautiful! I can see it from my house.
