My contribution to Haiti

This is something that came to me over the last few days being inundated with images and video of the tragedy in Haiti. My former band is releasing our debut EP in the next couple weeks. Since there is no future for this band, this is not shameless self-promotion. We have dissolved and moved on to other projects.

I want to donate all net proceeds from our release to a charity to help out the victims of the earthquake. We are The Dime Sized Drops, and the release is a 4 song EP called The Cracks In The Walls.

Check us out at http://www.myspace.com/dimesizeddrops. I'll put the songs on iTunes as well, so people that don't live in Winnipeg can buy it and essenetially get free music and make a donation at the same time.

Peace.

TOTALLY unnecessary in this time of need and relief from the suffering of the Haitian people. You must one of the mesmerized Rush fans.

Actually I donated blood, hope that would be good enough.

I just don't like how people are almost shaming others into donating. I don't remember there being this much support for other disasters around the world.

Good for you I hope you feel better, I donated $50 more today.

Exactly how are people--which people are shaming others into donating? You don't remember the tsunami and were you shameful of our initial response and support to those on the Gulf Coast/Katrina? You appear to be the one being shameful here.

so if "people almost shaming others into donating" is your issue, why did you feel the need to post it in this thread? What about my original post was shaming anyone into doing anything?

I'm no hero. Music is not my livelihood. I'm not doing anything extraordinary. I just felt as though I had been inspired to do something, and I was hoping that maybe I, humbly, might inspire someone else in the same manner.

Good for you for donating blood. Sincerely, that's great. I just didn't see your purpose in derailing this thread into a political and negative forum.

Who's shaming anyone? And where were you around the time of the tsunami?
