the gift

the wolf

the door closes behind him
bad week now in the past
he does not look forward to the weekend
it's just more time spent alone

on the table a note
reminding him of all he lost
the kindness, the beauty, the love
his angel

under the note a simple gift
leftover from Christmas
forgotten in it's hiding place
now sees the light

he finally cries
knowing he will always love her
knowing it will be the last gift from her
a simple gift, now his favorite

Wolf, I like this, but as a reader, I need more of a hint as to what the gift might be. I don't need to know exactly, but I think some kind of reference however vague or wrapped in mystery, could really kick this up a notch. Again, I do like it though.
