it's been easy up till this point..

Some of you know this has not been the best 7 days of my life and I want to thank everyone who has lent me their ear, or spoken kind words to me over the last 7 days. Thank you, from the bottom of my soul.

I'm finally mad over what is going on though, and its really making me want to drink.

fuck. so much for it being easy.
Peace, Love.

  • 16 days is no small feat at all amigo
Imagine a new moms 16th with an infant - 15 days ago she didn't really no beans about it - some just is just getting a clue - same for you
16 without drinking now it is getting "difficult" hang in there - You owe it to yourself!!!
Nothing good comes easy and the right way is always the long way
yeah yeah cleche I know - but i know because i've been there
When the child is 2 years old and the mom looks back on those first 16 days she will view them as easy - same for you - honestly, I promise
Imagine the time between the Philly Shows and the bootleg release that is way more time than 16 days and you've made it through that

Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

Are you feeling any better for it?

I'm having a month off drinking.....I'm at day 12 I think. Smoking a bit of weed at night sometimes though.

I had the month of October off drinking last year and that was the longest I'd gone since I was probably 18 or so. Felt so good for it. I can drink waaaay too much for a girl my size. You kinda get to that point where you have 10 beers but not be drunk....not good.

    Good luck!

Quit drinking a few times in my life with both kids of course and a couple times after a lampshade award but alas I have found drinking is very much a part of me- I enjoy wine really don't want to let that go. Its just a lovely creation. I have learned to consume in moderation well except for some Friday nites when I might get a little crazy 8-)

it had just become way to big a part of my life. My father owned a bar all my life, and well..... I was allowed to drink starting at a very early age. I decided to quit just because of health reasons, lose the beer gut, and just got tired of it. my tolerence is outta this world, I can put it away. Come home from work, play some music or xbox and it was nothing for me to sit here and drink a 12 pack every night. Some nights more.
With that came ..... problems at times.

I just thought it was time to go it sober for at least a while.

9 days into it the GF fell for some other guy and left. No worries, still didn't want to drink.

Today, something about it all pissed me off, anger is a big trigger for me I guess.

I just thought it would be harder at the start, and it has not been. Today is the first time that I have even wanted a beer. It's actually "on my mind" in a big way. The temptation that is.

    thanks to all.

hey i've been on this wagon a few times myself (as documented in previous threads). one way to replace the 'urges' of drinking is by having some diet sprite around. or tonic. anything bubbly. obviously you know to drink a boatload of water, but the diet sprite will help tame those other urges. as a matter of fact, i'm going to crack one open right now. :D keep up the good work!
I love to turn you on
  • I don't read a lot of stuff on here. I had no idea what you're dealing with Wolf, but I like you and I hope it all works out.

Drinking or drugs is never the way to make anything better. Believe me...I've tried. At the end of the day I just had to realize that I was a genuinely awesome person and I was above all that shit.

I'll tap my wife's ass in honor of you sometime today. Maybe the karma will spread your way.

Keep it up wolf. I know you have been going through hell. I can't say I know exactly what you are going through but a couple of years ago i went through a really bad patch and it's tempting to use things to numb yourself. I know it sounds cliched but the saying that time heals all is true.

    kudos to you wolf!
    seriously.
you've been going thru HELL, and still staying off the drink? difficult or not, still impressive. keep it up! why beat yourself up, why work counter to your goals? try to think of it that way. you are doing this for YOU, so keep that in mind.

i am taking a break from alcohol consumption myself. however, no where near where you are. had my last glass of wine sunday....plan on abstaining until valentine's day, and then after that...who knows? depending how my weight-loss/healthy life plan is going....i may try abstaining for a longer period....maybe indulge only once a month with a bottle, or at most.....1 bottle each, or every other, weekend. i got waaaayyyyyy outta hand over the last year, but most especially during the holiday season. :? so yes, i was due.

    good luck!
