Im surprised nobody picked up on this yet. Check out the background music at around 5:15-5:25. Whatever it is, it sounds a little like soundgarden to me. Its pretty mixed up, like 2 songs playing at once.

not really enough there to pick it apart... but it does sound like some solid percussion from matt... cool SG-esque weird timing n shit... lets hope this EP surfaces soon!

Mmmm.

To me, it sounds like different pieces and bites overlayed.... like a special effect or something, that mixes well with the images... I really don't see a pattern...

...I wish it's true though, I'd jump on that EP!!

Based on band member comments last summer, I'm pretty sure they are back in the studio this month putting the finishing touches on these songs.

There isn't going to be any EP. There isn't going to be a proper North American Tour. There isn't going to be any super deluxe reissue of Vs. There isn't gonna be a DVD, And there isn't going to be anything special when the band or whoever finally gets around to releasing the Philly boots.

You got 38 minutes of new music, no B-sides, and a smattering of live shows. Get used to being shortchanged, kids.

i agree with every thing BUT ONE .... MIKE and STONE both said in a few different interviews that they recorded enough stuff for two cds.....AND there IS going to be a b'side/new album coming out this year ...they just dont know what to do with the other songs they recorded .......

It is just a bunch of music playing at once, the band tuning/warming up perhaps - Stone is talking about layering music during that segment and the editors have done it for effect. That's why no one has commented on it.

how are we shortchanged as pj fans...wooo you lot sometime..do you want world tours every year? a new album?dvd ,super deluxe and the bands special enough already.


and there is a blueay dvd 4disc of the philly show coming out..as i posted between xmas and new year in another thread.my brother-in-law works in the dvd industry.and his company are hoping to get the job of authoring it .(what ever that means).

so no short changing there

Other bands that did this (that come to mind anyway): Foo Fighters released a double CD - it was substandard compared to their previous work; SOAD released two albums within a few weeks - they were abysmal; RHCP released that useless double CD - it was pretty much the end of them. I just hope they don't push more work out unless it's GOOD! One good album is better than two crappy ones.

Anything above a studio release is a gift - I like receiving gifts and welcome them openly.
Yes I am suppossed to get a magazine and a 45 from my friends annually for my $20 membership -
I do get them, my friends don't always give me instant satisfaction but they don't forget about me either.
For nearly 20 years now they have been in my thoughts most everyday. Never have two days passed with out them remixing the soundtrack of my life. Be thankfull that your friends are with you and that they DO think of you as often as you think of them even though they don't always get intouch with you as often as you would like - they do still come around all the same.

the thing is, this band has said several things in the past that were "in the works" that never materialized. things change, that's understandable, but I'll believe it when I see it.

If no EP, oh well, I love Backspacer! I just want a Winnipeg show!

i could see an EP of scattered thoughts and "odd" songs from this era of PJ being alot cooler than a full album of likeminded songs... theyre too confined by the idea of the "album" these day IMO
