Rudy Giuliani Wrong in Saying ‘No Domestic Attacks Under Bush'
“What he [Obama] should be doing is following the right things that Bush did -- one of the right things he did was treat this as a war on terror. We had no domestic attacks under Bush. We’ve had one under Obama,” Giuliani said. “Number two, he should correct the things that Bush didn’t do right. Sending people to Yemen was wrong, not getting this whole intelligence thing corrected.”

I can't believe he can say something like this when the President came out and took sole responsibility for the attack on Christmas. I actually have to commend him for doing that, not many Presidents are willing to say that.

Supposedly Giuliani meant no attacks after 9/11 but even that's wrong. There was Reid, the shoe bomber, and another attack at the airport in LA.
Maybe nobody else flew airplanes into buildings under Bush but there were still terrorist attempts.

I think the Ft. Hood attack was terrorism though the media tried to portray the killer as an angry young man or postal. So there have been at least two attacks under Obama that we know of in one brief year. But it would have happened under any President probably.

So you consider that Fort Hood attack a domestic terrorism, how so? Also how could this have been prevented?

Rudy is flat out wrong!! There was that little attack on 9/11, and the shoe bomber.
  • Bush's last press secretary, Dana perino, said the exact same thing, almost word for word. She was attacking Obama, saying he won't call Fort Hood Terrorism...

"We did not have a terrorist attack on our country during President Bush's term," she told Sean Hannity. "I hope they're not looking at this politically. I do think that we owe it to the American people to call it what it is."

neither Hannity nor the other guest corrected her. and neither did George Stephanopolous correct Rudy. It's amazing how these TV/Radio hosts will just blanch over something like this, like they're not even listening to the person they're interviewing. I'd have paid good money to watch Tim Russert dismantle anyone who tried to say there were no terror attacks under Bush

Stephanopolous later admitted he made a mistake not following up on that.
