I heard a live cover of Immortality by some crappy sounding alt-rock band on WMMR today and I was wondering if anyone knows who it was. I'm guessing it's Staind because it sort of sounded like their singer and they have covered Black in the past....but I'm not sure.

Yeah I know that. Eddie Vedder sounds nothing like Neil Young but their cover of Rockin in the Free World is killer. I just don't this vocal that the Seether guy is delivering. There's just too many 2000's alternative rock bands who sound like that and I dislike them all.

I just don't like that whiney, typical 2000's alt-rock voice. Too many guys have it. Maybe I was a little hard on them with the thread title because when it was on the radio, I said to the girl I work with who was in the car with me that "I can't really hate on them because they obviously like this song just like I do (if not more) and the instrumentation is tight, but I can't stand this type of vocal."

Yeah, I know a couple of people like that. They are it doesn't sound anything like the original. For example Fred Durst doing Behind Blue Eyes. If it sounded exactly like the original than why do it? I always had an issue with people like that.
baaad band is bad.
Excuse me...I just threw up in my mouth a little...
I just checked out this band "Seether." And I listened to the suggestions by the Seether fan.... This is a funny band right? They are a joke band no? HAHAHAHAHA!! Good stuff.
I agree with the one guy. The late 90's early 2000 bands were all trying to cash in on sounding like EV but never even coming close. ie... Creed and Staind.
