Damn ... you have to have a lot of mental anguish to stab yourself 9 times. Hope he recovers.

    Guy needs/needed serious help.

I should be writing WAAAAAAAAAHHH... but it hurts too much.

I had the pleasure of having dinner with him once and he is a real genuine guy who obviously never got over his demons.

I wish him a speedy recovery on all sides of his life...

Hope he gets better. I know that part of what makes him funny is his image/lifestyle, but he's really lucky that he isn't dead right now. I'll always remember that first episode of The Joe Buck Show.

Anyone who sabotages anything done by Joe Buck is alright in my opinion.

Have always been a big fan of Artie. Hope he gets better.

That's sad. I love listening to Artie on the show and watching him on Howard TV. Hope he can overcome these demons.

I couldn't agree more with you. When you hear suicide attempt with Artie, who if you read his book or listened to the Stern show, you know he's been fighting with his demons, so it's not too unexpected to hear that there was a suicide attempt. But if you really listened to him everyday, you know how close he was to his mother and it makes it all the more tragic that she had to find him in that condition. Howard couldn't even bring himself to read the story about the circumstances; I listened to Howard briefly discuss how there was a suicide attempt, but developed a gulp in my throat when I read that his mother was the one to find him in that condition. For a mother to know that there child is in that much pain, is probably truly all the more heart wrenching. He is a great guy and I hope he gets better.

Saddened and sickened at the same time. I wish I could understand what makes this man do the insane things he has done to himself since his youth. Truly the best thing to happen to the Stern show and one of the funniest guys out there, but just pure BS and selfishness to do such a horrible thing. Then to have your mom find you in your apartment with stab wounds covered in blood. The shit that man has put his family and the show through lately...

artie has seen rock bottom before...this isn't the first time he's tried to commit suicide. there was another time before when he took some pills, with the intent to kill himself, but failed as he was again discovered by his mother. it's all in his book.

but this is just depressing. i hate hearing that artie is out from work again. you almost know that it's going to be drug related/bad each and every time.

i just really hope he finds a way out of this. i don't know what his problem is. by the end of his book, he made it seem like there was still some hope for him. but i mean since last year when the book came out and now, i don't know what hope really exists for him.

i just wish that he gets better.

in other news...anyone else think jim breuer is going to replace him?

Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

look at that picture from the fox website...does anyone else just want to give that man a hug? i mean he looks like such a lovable guy, and he is, but he doesn't deserve to have these demons.

if you haven't done already, read his autobiography. i literally laughed and cried. that man has got a big heart.

artie if you're reading this, i would like to give you a hug.

I don't think anyone is going to replace him. I actually think this might put Howard over the edge and this will be his last year of doing the show
    full time.

see, i thought artie was just too dumb to get buck's sarcasm there. and, again--i hate joe buck but its fairly obvious he was not being serious.

In all fairness to Artie, he claims he was told by producers to act like an asshole.

I'm pretty sure he noticed the sarcasm there, Jeagler. My eight year old cousin could probably notice the sarcasm there. Lange just made fun of him regardless.

I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.
