My predictions???

I will count anywhere between 20-40 cars in the ditch.....
2-4 Semis in the ditch.....
10-15 accidents involving 2 or more cars......

    The news people crack me up..they practically have an orgasm when a snowstorm is predicted. Sorry, I should have specified the Northeast in general..lol..i know it's that way where I live.

    I have dealt with days like this for 20 years....
    Its part of the job....
    I get that....

    What I dont understand???
    Why have your fleet even report to work? I realize the freight has to move...I get that.....

    But....

    60 of us drivers will me accomplishing nothing. We wont make half of our pickups/deliveries. There will be at least 1 truck involved in an accident. The companies we will be picking up from and delivering to, will have half their employees there. The docks will not be shoveled. The lots will not be plowed. I will be spinning tires in customers lots all day long. It will be 12 hours of pure frustration, while accomplishing bare minimum.

    Just call the customers, let them know we will get everything tomorrow and Saturday. Whatever freight I am picking up/delivering can wait one more day. Nothing is that important.

    Like i said, half the freight isnt going to leave the customers docks to begin with.

    I admire anyone that can drive anything bigger than a pick-up truck through a city in good weather.

    I actually remember stopping to watch a guy whip his delivery truck into a little tiny alley in San Francisco, in one of the neighborhoods between Chinatown and Union Square. Quite impresssive, but I am easily impressed. I live in Wyoming, and we have enough room in our backyards to turn around a train if needed.

    So the piece of shit weathermen were CONVINCED we were going to get 10-12 inches of snow.....

    We ended up getting 4-5....

    4-5 is no big deal...
    10-12 is a fucking nightmare.....

    But I was right...
    I left for work yesterday at 11:15am
    Returned home at 2:15am.....

    That my friends, is a LONG FUCKING WORK DAY!!!!!!!! hehehehe
