Alien Life Forms Ordering Pizza in 2012

I belong to another board where we are discussing the topic of December 21, 2012 and the Aztec calendar. Pardon in advance for the rambling...just can't stop thinking about it today.

We all have many ideas on what that day means if anything at all.

Some say nothing is going to happen.

Some say a new shift will occur.

How I hope that it's simply something that causes love for ALL mankind, including compassion for animals and plants.

I think after I had a child, everything changed. The world needed to be safer.

The world as we humans know it may end though......

....... With millions of acres of oxygen giving trees being murdered everyday and people suffering from terminal illnesses we can't cure and the pole shifts and solar flares and terrorism and war and global warming and mega disasters and asteroids........a general denial of all these seems plausible I guess, although you would not be able to own a TV or computer to escape from it. Will it only get worse?

It seems that since as humans we have not been on this Earth except for a second on the history time line, we really don't know what has happened in the past that could cause a sudden disaster. Even if the electricity went out for a year or more, we'd be in trouble in some areas. Is anyone ready for that? Who would survive? Would you? Do we know how?

One could just ignore the western cultures current Y2K.

My point is, I'm frustrated I have to see book after book or movie ad or discussions about it, because I believe thoughts are things and we could actually make it happen. The power of the collective conscious...and here I am starting a thread about it. It's only going to get worse.

I personally wish one thing would happen that would evolve mankind. I wish we would be visited by benign alien life forms that show us how to live. Not eat us. Teach us.

I know that would freak humans out...but that's just what they need, to be freaked into thinking. What would a KKK member do if confronted by an alien and the only house to run to was the home of an African American? Those kinda visuals entertain my mind....

.....and where would Jesus fall into all of this?......that could be him coming back as ET.

All and all, if nothing changes, nothing changes.

Thanks for reading about something that interests me.

    a post script.....

What I do know, but can't think logically about...

Actually the Bible does not say the world will end on that day the Mayan calendar does. And actually the Mayan calendar does not say the world will end on that day but a significant event that will change the world will happen on that day. The day that the Mayan calendar says the world will end is sometime around the year of 3620. Who knows what will happen on this exact date though, we will just have to wait and see. The Mayans believed the same events occur again and again throughout time, that is that time is sort of 'revolving.' Some experts believe that the Mayans predicted certain world events that have happened so far, though the wording of these events is sketchy. We may not be able to predict the end of the world but one thing is for sure, we can end this world.

  • I would suggest you don't be so optimistic. I like the "McKenna ideas" on the subject and other New Age ideals but regard them as science-fiction. The "apocalyptic" ideas on the subject are worthless.

Think about how stupid the average person is and then remember that half the people are more stupid than that. :D Nothing is going to happen in regards to the "collective unconscious" or rapid evolution of the mind.

Just because most of us can read and do a little math doesn't make us that special. We'll continue killing each other and raping the planet disguised as "moral" reasons or "security" or "democracy" but really just because we worship the alimighty dollar.

What a worthless species we are. Unconsciously jacking ourselves off onto others faces to build up our ego.

Damn right... my GF prefers I be conscious.

  • I remembered this and finally found it... sort of my idealistic hope for what will happen in 2012. Essentially, this is in line with the "McKenna" view of 2012 that I talked about earlier.... making the collective unconscious, conscious:

there's a group out there that are pro human extinction. I know it sounds radical, but it's an interesting idea. get rid of ourselves to save the world and all of the other species we've destroyed at our own hand.

you're right. we're disgusting. how can you be at the top of the evolutionary chain and yet be so intellectually primitive? it boggles my mind.

"If I went to some Mayan-speaking communities and asked people what is going to happen in 2012, they wouldn't have any idea. That the world is going to end? They wouldn't believe you. We have real concerns these days, like rain"

    thanks for the article.

    sure.

in many ways, I do think the world is coming to an end, but there's no need for religious prophesy. my prediction is that by the end of this century, most of the world will be a disgusting wasteland, and the world's population will be about 10% of what it is now due to starvation, war and disease. maybe i'm being ridiculously pessimistic, but are there any reasons for me to be optimistic?

From what I have read, isn't it a new age we are about to enter?? The age of Aquarius?
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_Aquarius

Ages are believed by some astrologers to affect mankind while other astrologers believe the ages correlate to the rise and fall of mighty civilizations and cultural tendencies. Aquarius traditionally "rules" electricity, computers, flight, democracy, freedom, humanitarianism, idealists, modernization, rebels and rebellion, mental diseases, nervous disorders, and astrology.[4] Other keywords and ideas believed associated with Aquarius are nonconformity, philanthropy, veracity, perseverance, mankind and irresolution.[5] The appearance or elevation in status of many of these Aquarian developments over the last few centuries is considered by many astrologers to indicate the proximity of the Aquarian age. There is no uniform agreement about the relationship of these recent Aquarian developments and the Age of Aquarius. Some astrologers believe that the influence of a New Age is experienced before it arrives because of a cuspal effect or Orb of Influence. Other astrologers believe the appearance of Aquarian developments indicate the actual arrival of the Age of Aquarius.
I knew all the rules, but the rules did not know me...GUARANTEED!

I actually agree with you somewhat. I believe that if we don't act, it will end up a wasteland. And I don't think it's pessimistic, it's realistic. Think about the West and how they get their drinking water. It's not built to withstand long term (think Phoenix, AZ, a quickly growing metropolis in the middle of the desert). The Colorado River will be dry up someday if city officials don't start thinking about the future of this state. Right now they waste a ton of water to keep golf courses green. If they only realized what they're doing...

BUT, I do have hope that we, as a whole, will come around to forward thinking and get our act together so that don't screw up our civilization's future. I like the idea of the Aquarian Age, as Yahimita posted, but think that it would take a mass movement to happen. A revolution.

Phoenix will be fine for quite awhile... it is those damn native americans upstream who have to have water delivered from (literally) hundreds of miles away because Phoenix has grown so much. It is a growing problem every year and very sad that natives don't have access to water because it is exploited by the "priority" population.

Water rights are fairly simple - the people that were there first have the rights and the people upstream have more rights than the people downstream. But in Arizona, the people that were there first (native americans) and the people upstream (native americans) don't have any water because of all the worthless suburbanites moving to Chandler, Scottsdale, Gilbert and Mesa.
