"Room Service Tray" - a musical gift for PJ

Hi!

In 1997, SPIN released and article about PJ.
In the end of the article, Eddie Vedder mentions he'd been working on a new song. But the song (as far as we know) was never released. You can read it here:

We're a band from Brazil, and we've come up with some songs as a gift for Eddie Vedder and PJ.

The piece is called "Room Service Tray". The story is told in three songs.

We released them on Eddie's birthday. We really hope the band gets to hear them - and like'em! - as the piece was intended to try and reach them with at least 0,00000half% the depth and relevance they're music's touched us. You know, give something back, in a meaningful way.

The songs are here:

Also, there are some "quasi-videos" - just some photos with the music, not really videos for the songs - on YouTube.

We hope you enjoy.

Thanks!

    bumping...

only had time to listen to the first and part of the second parts, but so far so good! you guys have a pretty good sound. hoping to land a spot as the opening gig on pj's next south american tour are ya??
My favorite Pearl Jam song: "Corporate Greed Boat Asshole Behind a Counter in the Oval Office"
  • We're glad you liked the songs so far, Spat! Thanks also for taking the time to reply, and let us know you liked them!
Let us know if you like the rest of it, too.

    Lol.
No we didn't write the piece to land that spot...in fact, how could we know they would come to Brazil again when we first started writing and recording? As you might know, it's not that fast of a process. Specially recording, when you're a poor garage band like us.
Also, it took PJ 15 years to come to Brazil, so it's not like it could happen at any moment again, is it?

And, apart from all that, we're nowhere near any radar of anything. The attention we have is next to zero. Except from some friends and drunk people at the very, very, excruciatingly very few gigs we get to play, no one really knows who we are, wether overseas or in our own hometown.
We doubt we could get anywhere near PJ, specially opening a concert for them.

We recorded the songs simply because: 1) the idea hit us, and the "Room Service Tray" concept seemed too good to be left aside, 2) we really love the band, and thought if we could get them to listen to it, we could pay back - in an infinitly small fraction - some of the joy they've given us and all their fans, and 3) because we enjoyed doing it all.

Sorry for the long reply, we just wanted to make sure we get the point across, as the songs were written out of affection, and nothing more. This is no scheming, we have no such angle.
It might even look as we're taking ourselves to seriously, to have that much "zeal" over sth that is likely to have so little attention. But if the band ever listens to it (and that we do want), we'd like them to know our true reasons.
