Footpaths make me angry

TWICE in the past couple of months I've wandered around a corner to find an old man lying on the ground. First one had slipped on the wet leaves. The one today slipped on the ice and had some kinda fit.

I'm relatively young and even I'M terrified of walking at the moment and am getting taxi's everywhere. I feel soooo sorry for old people right now. I'm not blaming county councils or anything BUT there's never any talk about gritting footpaths or doing anything to make them safe. I love the snow and I love the cold weather but it's really starting to take the fun out of it :(

It's crap up here too, the main street isn't so bad but everywhere else is covered in ice. Apparently our nearest fracture clinic ran out of plaster bandages as so many people have slipped and broken something.

I think it is the councils fault really, someone I know who owns their own shop was telling me that they can't grit outside their shop because if they do, and someone still falls and hurts themselves they can be sued. So they have to leave it to the council, which don't do it.

    :(

everyone's blaming everyone, it's so annoying. When I was home over christmas, turned out my sister thought she was snowed in for a few days til she ventured to the main road and it was perfect... there were plenty of people stranded in their country houses for days.

It's so sad though to see both men in that state. When the ambulance got there today he couldn't move his legs, he coulda had a stroke or something!
