Well, I am going for a job interview in a few days. I havent done very many of them in my life. What are some tips reguarding job interviews? How do you stay calm? What do I want to make sure I do in the interview? Some do's and donts?

For my own benefit, I will, before I head to the interview, play some calm, relaxing music to get my head in the right space.

Just remember that you're interviewing THEM as much as they're interviewing YOU. Ask them questions about the job, the company, the facilities, etc. even if knowing the answers won't impact your decision to work there. It makes it less one sided and more like a conversation which will maybe relax you a little and show them that you're on the ball. Good luck!

Research a little about the company tonight, if you haven't already. Also, read the job description a few times and try to envision what sorts of questions they might ask you that relate to what you'll be doing: teamwork skills, times when you've had to engage in a difficult decision, thinking on your own and examples of when it did and didn't work in your favor, times you messed up and what you did to rectify the situation, etc.

And I can't emphasize enough: be pleasant and engaging, but do not let your nerves make you ramble on and on. The more you ramble, the more chance you have of messing up. If you noticed you are beginning ot stray off topic and notice you've been talking non-stop for 2 minutes, calmly finish your thought and end it.

Do your research and emphasize your strengths that fit the job description.

    Be confident, but not cocky.

Dress nicely & sit up straight.

exactly. ask them about their career path, experiences with the company, etc. people love talking about themselves.

    Like Eddie says, "just breathe"

in you're case i would ask up-front if they have a problem with you taking off for a weekend to see a rock concert. ;)

    I kid, I kid.

they always say to ask questions, but i for one have never been able to come up with many questions during an interview. maybe beacause i've been in sitiuations where it didnt matter, i just needed a job and would scrub their toilets if it meant me getting hired.

people say that you are interviewing them as much as they are interviewing you. while that has been true in the past, not so much anymore with the way the job market is.

my best advice, just be yourself man. you seem like a pretty intelligent guy, and do not ever seem to be at a loss for something to say. so just be yourself. oh yeah, and like the person above said...... Just Breath ! ;)

    good luck bro.
    Peace, Love.

Walk in in your most casual attire. Belch, excuse yourself, tell them you just came from the pub...ask them for an ashtray as you're pulling out a new pack of cigarettes.

    Totally kidding. :D

All the advice given here is more than I could've given you. Good luck! :)

In the case of desperation, maybe this advice should be re-phrased as if the interviewee were on a date: Show some interest in who they are, not just what you can get out of them.
