First Song Of A New Decade

It's a little ritual that I have each and every year. I carefully pick one track as the first song of the year. With this being a new decade, it's even more special (to me anyway! ;) ).

I've already decided that the first song of the new decade will be I Am Mine. The lines "I know I was born and I know that I'll die, the inbetween is mine" is always such a great reminder that I am responsible for the precious gift of my life and not to waste any of it.

What will yours be?

    It will be a random choice of my intuitive 6 disk CD player- it always knows just what I want to hear and it will be all good
    it will be all Pearl Jam accompanied by fireworks!

    this is good. i've always loved this song, for similar reasons. i find meaningful gems like this hidden all over riot act...

    this is an interesting idea ... i think i have tried this in the past (not necessarily for new years ... but hey!) but i don't remember what the reason/occasion was. i know it won't happen tonight but if i have my hands on the stereo controls at midnight i think i will find something that rocks, but with a message: maybe something like triumph - follow your heart, lol!! i think i just lost half of ya ... look it up on youtube if you aren't familiar ... a great song !!

    Yeah, 2009 was Alive, 2008 was seen in by Punchdrunk Lovesick Singalong and 2007 by Street Spirit. My memory doesn't recollect beyond that, but I have done it every year for about 10 years now.
