The complaining on this board is getting way out of control
No matter what the band does or what decisions are made, people will find reason to complain. To me, it is getting old very quickly.
I understand that there is a need to feel validated in your frustration, and this board is a place to hopefully find like-minded people to commiserate with... but it seems that whatever decisions are made, people complain.
At the end of the day, Pearl Jam is a rock band AND a business. They make business decisions that they feel make the best business sense. That means doing things that won't alienate the fanbase, and also doing things to help promote growth. While we won't love all decisions they make and several will be unpopular, please know that there are factors that drive decisions that may not be immediately known to the fans (or ever known to the fans).
Perhaps the no cameras and recording of the shows is because they are releasing official CDs and/or DVDs and they want it to be released with their artisitc vision in mind (read they want to make coin on it, as well).
I guess what I am saying is that at the end of the day I am seeing a lot of complaining about something that we are all supposedly very fond of. Perhaps we can start one thread called COMPLAINTS, and we can use that thread to vent in... and the rest of the board can be less toxic.

For those who scoff at "Jamily" in my name... 9 years ago, when my first daughter was born there were jokes about whether my priority would be my family or PJ. I smiled and quipped "I am a JamilyMan." What was a family joke became a hated term among jammers. Didn't see that one coming!

When was the birth of the term "Jamily" and who created it?
Also when did it become fashionable to hate the term?

i started hating the term 'jamily' sometime around the first time i ever heard it. Surely there is a better name. Jammer? Vedhead?
thumbs down for Vedhead...that's something a groupie would say.
