All That's Sacred: Podcast #33 now up!
http://allthatssacred.blogspot.com/
Been feeling a little under the weather here lately and had this week’s podcast sneak up on me. Luckily I had some listener help with the song selections and was able to crank this out to end the year on a high note. With #33 being the last episode of 2009, we’re going out with a BANG and featuring songs where Mike McCready ignites the moment by creating sonic fireworks with his instrument! I just couldn’t think of a more appropriate way to close out the year.
Hope you all have a happy and safe New Year! Looking forward to 2010 but recognize that 2009 wasn’t without its highlights. The biggest personal highlight for me this year was the creation of the podcast and connecting with so many of my fellow fans. Thanks to everyone in the Pearl Jam online community and special thanks to Brandon at The Sky I Scrape for the early and continued support. I really appreciate you all coming along for the ride and contributing to the podcast and hope to continue for the foreseeable future. See you next year.
Cheers! Donny

So I was listening to Christchurch and laughed my ass of when Ed "wiped out" on Amongst the Waves with the lyrics. It got me thinking that you are going to need new ideas for future shows and I think at least one show could be dedicated to Ed fuck-ups!
We all tend to look at Ed as super-human for the most part, but when he blows it during a song we all kind of laugh. We don't get frustrated and we don't point fingers. Hell, I know I forget plenty...
I remember some shows I have been to recently where Ed shows humility in seeking help from us fans to get him through it. Off the top of my head, Ed Solo 7.2.09 in Honolulu in his first solo attempt on Crazy Mary- he brought someone up on stage after they helped bail him out. In San Diego 09 they dusted off Parachutes and Ed looked to someone for help in the front row. The fan had been singing along but fumbled when Ed prodded him for the next line. Ed laughed and pointed at him as if to say "it's all your fault"!!!
I think we all see it as pretty endearing and a good reminder of how hard it must be to have all those words from the expansive catalogue in his head. I'm sure other fans have other examples to easily fill a podcast or 12! Anyway, thanks for the consideration on the idea and thanks for the podcasts!
Cheers,
STONEd and dAMENT-ED (Ryan)
Yeah, I've kind of explored some examples of Ed being "perfectly imperfect" on podcasts past -- although usually for a segment or two. With the list you provided, I have the start for dedicating a whole podcast to it down the road! Thanks for the suggestions and thanks for checking out the podcast!
