So, the little bird is going to tell us about a small, select cities tour which will INCLUDE the EV shows already scheduled. Those shows are going to be Eddie solo shows as the opening act... and then, APRIL FOOLS!.. the band comes out and joins him. The Eddie shows will be nothing more than the beginning of the tour... and then Eddie might pass the opening duties to another band, or he may continue to open the rest of the shows (will be a few select shows for a voters awareness kind of thing).

Because there are only 1500 threads speculating, I can't promise that you heard it here first (no time to see if anyone else exposed this yet)... but you did hear it here significantly before the little bird sings.

Enjoy... and let's hope for some East Coast love.

The above is pure speculation based on nothing more than my analysis of the situation... please take with a grain of salt.
For those who scoff at "Jamily" in my name... 9 years ago, when my first daughter was born there were jokes about whether my priority would be my family or PJ. I smiled and quipped "I am a JamilyMan." What was a family joke became a hated term among jammers. Didn't see that one coming!

all speculation - but it makes sense, and I would bet that it is the case.

    We'll see soon (I hope)

by the way, i said this to some degree on another post. Not that the band is joining Ed on his opwn dates, but being that his tour is called April Fools, I could see that happening..

I believe you have nailed it, this is got to be it.....I have never stopped trying to figure out what the "fools' part of the tour is, and this is what I thought as well- the other guys will be in on it for sure....

JamilyMan - be careful you might get sued :)
  • I dont know. These venues are all so small and sitdown. Why bring the whole band for venues that are much more well suited for a solo-intimate performance?
I guess it could be possibe, but it would be more like PJ is the backing band for Ed and the tour is still Ed's music. I doubt that would happen

Just a joke based on some of the other threads suggesting the band would incur legal liability for doing something along the lines of what you have suggested...you could be named an accomplice ;)

could be acoustic PJ shows like Benyola. The VIC was small. It would also explain why EV tickets were so high. I think tis dude has nailed it!

Yes, it's called misrepresentation. I bought tickets to an EV concert, not a PJ concert. Not that I don't want to see PJ this year, but, again, I bought tickets to an EV concert. I very seriously doubt that the west coast dates already announced will be PJ shows. Maybe PJ members make special appearances, but to turn them into entirely PJ shows would involve some level of misrepresentation on the part of PJ, EV individually, and the 10C. Ripe for a class action lawsuit ;)

I agree witht his dude....just a ridiculous speculation. Im sure people would be pissed if they bought tickets to a pearl jam show and then it turned out to be an Ed solo show. You cant announce that after the ticket sales.

If you read my post, I speculated that Eddie would open the show (with a decent length set). This would fulfill the obligation of the purchase that the lucky ones have made. They are getting to see an Eddie solo show. Then, when the band comes out, that is another act. I don't think you would sue them if your favorite band played after Eddie... I think you would be pleased with the added bonus. I can easily see this happening... and there really is no basis for a complaint or a lawsuit. You got your Eddie show :) and then April Fools... it's Mike, Stone, Jeff, Matt and Boom coming out to play with him.

Again, this is speculation... but it made a lot of sense to me or I would not have wasted my time or yours. Let's hope that we learn the reality of the tweet soon!

You are very correct. If this happens, Let it be known, I am an East Coaster who is not going to any of these shows. I would be not bitching but excited for all my PJ peeps who would get to see this awesome event.

Yes, I would be upset. I paid for an EV concert. Not a 40% EV concert and a 60% PJ concert.

That being said, the misrep/class action talk I used above was just to answer the one person's question about potential liability. I wouldn't actually try to go ahead with a lawsuit. I can't stand class action lawsuits - all just a scheme to get the plaintiffs' lawyers some money.

So, let me understand this... you would rather see Eddie play for an hour, get up and leave, sending you home with 60 minutes worth of memories than have him play for an hour, get up briefly to get a new bottle and red and come out with a few friends who jam with him for another hour or more?!?
I mean, if that's the case, you can get up and leave and be in the same boat as scenario one. I just think once he plays his set, he will have fulfilled the obligation of the ticket contract, and anything after that is gravy.

I agree with you JamilyMan. I think it is completely insane that anyone, especially a PJ fan, would bitch because they bought a Ed Ved ticket and it turns out that not only is Eddie playing, but so is PJ. Ed isn't going to play for more than an hour and a half, MAX, any way. So, he decides to shorten it up a bit so PJ can play.

Any who bitches, BOO-FUCKING-WOO TO YOU. Maybe you should sell your tickets to some people who appreciate the awesome experince that was just handed to you.....assuming this is what is about to be announced.

if there is anything to add, in terms of speculation, to the ed tour talk, it is that jack irons and flea are touring with him.

Speak the word! Also, all of these people that insist that the "fools" part of the tour title is meaningless, well, I don't get it. Since when does a tour even have a title, other than the name of the album or VFC? It means something...

No. I would rather see EV play for 2 hours by himself and/or with special guests who are not members of PJ.

Why is this so hard for everyone to understand? I bought these tickets looking for a different concert experience than seeing PJ again. I wouldn't run off and sell my tickets if it turned out to be 1/2 EV and 1/2 PJ, but I would be disappointed.
