Dreaming childhood friends.

With eyes closing
she lies her head down
upon her bed
tiny stars overhead whispering.
Soon she’s a child again.
Walls come down
falling all around.
Her sleeping head’s where dreams of me are
a boy climbing trees
and a bird singing.
A nearby lake turns to silver and gold
where swans are jeweled sun crowns
and the deepness carries my heartbeat to her shore.
She is transported across the sky
like so much light
yet she sleeps away like a dandelion
before spring colors need her for natures truest painting.
She is a dreaming angel
running with clouds across my chest
like a mountain range that throws rainbows around like confetti
and butterflies wings are summers greatest festival.
Soon she’s a child again.
Here she has no anger
she has no tears
here she has a friend.
