More snow in Texas....

Not that it really matters to most here, but I'm loving it. Tomorrow will make the 4th snow day in Texas in the last 3 weeks, and it's only December. Calling for an 80% chance of it tomorrow. We even had some nice snow on Christmas Eve. My wife and I had been talking about moving somewhere where it snows; I guess we don't have to now.

What part of TX are you from? I think they're calling for a 20% chance around tomorrow. I, for one, really dislike the snow and any dream of a white Christmas for me is probably going to be a nightmare, lol. I had to drive about 500 miles in it over Christmas and am really hoping there is not more this week. I know some people that had to spend the night in their cars in Wichita Falls last week that will probably agree. The problem is that a most cities in Texas are not prepared for that weather and most people don't know how to drive on ice (yet still try :wtf: ). I felt like I was in a video game dodging all of the dumbasses on the road last week!

So does the snow actually accumulate on the ground or does it melt right away? We have like 2' on the ground right now where i live, but i do live in Canada (to be expected) It white out conditions right now, they are actually closing roads. it has to be bad for them to close the roads cause we drive through everything. The Olympic Torch just came through town today, that was pretty cool  GO CANADA GO!!!

I'm just south of Dallas. It just depends on how cold the ground is as to whether or not it sticks. If it rains first, and then turns into snow, it's just wet and nasty. However, if it snows right off the bat, then if the conditions are as they have been predicting, we should get some accumulation. I've never heard of it snowing in December, here. Most of the snow here (on the few occasions it occurs) happens between mid January through early April.

It proves the scientists are right that this is the first symptom

I really don't feel that this single event proves or disproves anything...

Sure it does.... it proves that water still freezes at 0 degrees.

Well...when you're right, you're right :) I guess it did also prove to many people in Wichita Falls that snow can seriously suck!

Just north of Dallas and we have had three pretty good snows this year, which is really unusual. One in November, the White Christmas and then again between Christmas and New Year. We are lucky if it sticks around for more than a couple of days.

Didn't mean it proves global warming. I mean it proves that the scientist say this would be the first symptom.

  • Snowing in the UK too. Really bad - couldn't get into work today and most places had to close. This kind of heavy snowfall has never happened in my town like this before. Might have to take another day off tomorrow :D
