Obama had a nice one.

The Obamas' rental property is 7,000 square feet of paradise on the southeastern coast of the island, complete with large open spaces built around a lagoon pool.

It's also not cheap. Staying in this $8.9 million house, which Zimel has dubbed the "Obama Winter White House," will cost around $4,000 a night. The two houses next door will be occupied by Obama family members and friends.


But when you spend that kind of money, people pay attention to detail.

    Agreed! Only FAUX news will have a problem with this, never mind Bush and the sheer number of vacations he took. My Christmas vacation was very nice, thanks for asking

    I am by far NOT a obama fan !!
    but...as a president..any president in office has the weight of the world and it's problems on his shoulder's
    but I guess you can say that's why they signed up for the job right, these people that run for this or any
    important position direct their lives in that direction by going to school and working hard to meet the goals
    they have set for them self's and being president has always included such perks, I'm not saying obama
    deserves any of it but as president this is one of those perks paid for by the American tax payer ,
    all this aside, I think obama bit off more than he can chew......he's gonna change the world alright but luckily
    for us he will only have about 3 more years to screw thing's up,the next person to go in will have his or her work cut out for them that for sure. just my thought on it. :D

    i can't believe how the thought of him spending the holidays in hawaii, his home state, with family and friends, has so many of you people angry. he is a HEAD OF STATE by the way....

    you don't see sarkozy, putin, berlusconi or any other head of state staying at a motel 6 in omaha nebraska when they go on vacation, so why should obama??

    I mean, at least he's not on vacation from his job 70% of the time, like George W. Bush was. Really, people. :lol::lol:

    Report: Rush Limbaugh taken to Hawaii hospital

    HONOLULU – Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh was taken to a hospital with chest pains on Wednesday, a Honolulu television station reported.

    Paramedics responded to a call at 2:41 p.m. from the Kahala Hotel and Resort where Limbaugh is vacationing, KITV reported. The station, citing unnamed sources, said the 58-year-old Limbaugh was taken to The Queens Medical Center in serious condition.

    Queens spokeswoman N. Makana Shook says the hospital is unable to comment on the report.

    Emergency Medical Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic said paramedics took a male of unknown age to an area hospital from the Kahala Hotel and Resort. He said he had no further information.

    Limbaugh was seen golfing at Waialae Country Club earlier this week, KITV said. The country club is next to the Kahala hotel.

    For privacy reasons, hotel spokeswoman Sheila Donnelly Theroux said she was unable to acknowledge that Limbaugh is a guest.

    In 2001, Limbaugh reported he had lost most of his hearing due to an autoimmune inner-ear disease. He had surgery to have an electronic device placed in his skull to restore his hearing.

    Two years later Limbaugh acknowledged he was addicted to pain medicine. He blamed the addiction on severe back pain, and took a five-week leave from his radio show to enter rehab.

    It would be nice if the Obama's paid for the basic rental, with the taxpayers picking up the tab for all of the staff and protection. They have the $$$, and that's really how it should be done for all Presidents, IMO, if they don't take advantage of the accommodations available within the gov't. That said, Presidents are never really on vacation. They get briefings every day. They're always on call. Be it Bush pulling up tree stumps in Crawford or President Obama golfing in Hawaii, it's ridiculous to begrudge these people ample time to blow off some steam.

    why is that?? its a public office he is holding and its paid for by public dollars. why should he be the first president in history to say "you are going to put me up in an 8 million dollar home for vacation?? no thanks....or at least let me pay for it." he serves the people, the least the people can do is pay for his vacation house just like they have done for every president since washington...
