Just thought it would be cool to list the top ten Pearl Jam moments of the past decade, when considering this there's one thing that jumps out at me right away. Roskilde, keeping that a separate item.

Here's a couple of what I think are the top ten moments of the past decade:

1.) 2000 Official Bootleg series. They finally did it, put out their own boots. I put this as #1 because it was really ground breaking to release all 70+ of them, I remember going to the music store and seeing them all jammed in there.
2.) Touring band 2000. Again ground breaking in that it was their first foray into providing live content to their fans outside of the pieces of live shows on the various singles over the years (Dissident, Alive, Daughter etc..).
3.) Re-Release of Ten. So many goodies, not enough Dave Abbruzzese though.
4.) Lost Dogs, again so many goodies.
5.) 10th Anniversary Show Las Vegas
6.) Temple of the Dog reunion (sort of)
7.) Leaving Epic records
8.) Live at the Garden DVD
9.) Imagine in Cornice DVD
10.) Rearview Mirror greatest hits CD/ Live at the Showbox DVD

  • Ive given this much thought. I looked at this issue in this light: What ten moments will this band be remembered for from this decade, say, 20-30 years from now? Most of us will be old and gray by then. When we rest our old bones and spin some "Parting Ways", "Marker in the Sand" or "Just Breathe" we'll define this era by the following events. My list is as follows (in no particular order):

    --Roskilde tragedy summer 2000
--Spectrum Closing Run in the fall of 2009
--Official Bootlegs of world tour and Touring Band 2000
--Moving from Epic to J. Records, release of Avocado and the subsequent world tour 2006
--Ten Redux and the beautiful mega box set 2009
    --Introduction of Boom Gaspar 2002-2003
--The creation of Backspacer and the "Target experiment" 2009
--South America and Canada Tours 2005 and solidifying our boys as a band of the people
    --Bonnaroo and "Mega-festival PJ" 2008
--The Mansfield Experiment complete with every song from the PJ catalogue summer 2003.

I did some research on an earlier thread dissecting live PJ throughout the decade. Check it out:
