  • I won the San Diego lottery and sat 1 seat left of dead center front (drank some wine during YL, Awesome). Lots of personal stories the ultimate lottery. Unfortunately I believe that the members are in tiers and for each tier there is a lottery. For instance I am member number 493xx. Every tour I've been at I keep getting closer and for the four 09 shows I got to, I never sat further than 8 rows from the stage. My friend joined the club in 2008 and for the Chicago shows she was in the 3rd deck for each :(. I think you just have to wait. When I first joined the club in the late 90's (thank god for internet in my small town) I would sit in the second deck or beyond the soundboard. Each tour I got closer and closer. Obviously the more obscure place (Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Little Rock, etc) the better your odds to get better tix. Hope this helps.

Just be lucky there is a lottery. My brother has been in the Dave Matthews Band club since 1995 and he always has the same 2nd row tickets to every show and knows exactly who will be next to him. The only way he gets closer is if someone ahead of him passes away or doesn't pay their fees but he's never sat in the beyond the 2nd row anywhere.

Actually boxorbag is right. Although your seats overall will get better with time, rows 1-2 and 9-10 are for lottery winners for each show. I went back to check ticket rules after seeing that last post. This is posted before each tour SO YOU HAVE JUST AS MUCH CHANCE AS ANYONE ELSE and it does happen, 2 people w/ proof.

By opting to purchase tickets, you agree to all Ten Club policies:

•All ticket sales are final. No refunds, transfers or exchanges.
•Two (2) tickets per show. No single tickets.
•Due to the limited amount of seats at the Gibson Amphitheater, Ten Club members are restricted to select one (1) show only at this venue.
•Tickets are not mailed in advance. Tickets are distributed at the venue on the day of the show.
•The fan club member must collect the tickets with a valid photo identification.
Ten Club tickets are for reserved seating and allocated by membership seniority, with the exception of rows 1-2 and rows 9-10 which will be used for random allocation.
•Seat location is not revealed in advance of the show.
•Reselling of Ten Club tickets will result in cancellation of ticket purchase and revocation of all future ticket benefits.

  • night 3, LA. won 2nd row center!!! been a fan since '98, joined in '99 (189XXX)

it happens, trust me. before this i've had not so good seats, except for GA shows. this was beyond a doubt, one of the best nights of my life.

until the next night, that is. when my ticket buddy won the FRONT ROW lottery! when it rains it pours, I tell ya... :D
  • I won the lotto front row this year in Vancouver. I am 358xxx and I went to 4 shows this summer so 1 for 4 ... not so bad. There weren't a lot of 10c's at that show compared to the other shows I went to. I think my seats would have been in the first 18 rows if I hadn't won which would have been the best so far. It was an incredible experience...keep the dream alive!
Since I have been in the 10C my seats have been all over the place. The best, besides Vancouver of course, was Honolulu and the worst was in Chicago Night 1 this year in the 300's. Lesson learned: go to the smaller market shows if I want to be close but needless to say I have had a blast at every show I have been to.

  • here's my plan...i'm gonna keep going to as many shows as i possibly can until i win the lottery, and, after that, i'm gonna go to as many shows as i possibly can until i win the lottery, and, after that, i'm gonna go to as many shows as i possibly can until i win the lottery, and, after that...

hopefully they go to G/A floor on the next US tour and the 10C offers standing or seated tickets, that way all this lottery craziness can be put to bed.
