U2 and Taylor Swift Mashup? Surprisingly brilliant!

I love these things. Stereogum, is one of my favorite websites, I visit it religiously, and the bands they cover are usually my favorite bands. Anyways, every year they team up with Team9, to mashup indie songs. Last year, the collection had a great track, my favorite being, that genius guitar lick from Alfred Hammonds solo record, and then having Katy Perry's vocal track from I kissed a Girl, overlaying that. It worked brilliantly.
This year, they pull off an equally impressive feat, the instrumental track of With or Without you by U2, and mixing that with of all things Taylor Swift's A love story. Its my favorite track off the mix, and judging from the comments on Stereogum, I am not alone. Something about the song just works. The fading vocals, the fact that the vocals are sort of low in the mix, and how the songs just sort of melt into one. I love it.

ok i lied. heard it a couple more times. kills me to say it, but its fucking awesome.
I know, isnt it Benzor? I am in love with the song. Its one of those songs that is as I said, is perfect. Every single part of it.
And as I mentioned, I dont know about you Benzor, but I am a pretty uptight indie snob. I have no idea if Taylor's songs are as good as this one right here, obviously they sound much different as they arent soaked in u2 atmospherics, but, if her songs are half as good as this tune, I will check her album out.
whats funny, is, although she is part of the whole "pop music" or "pop country " music scene, Taylor is technically indie, shes on an indie label, or was, actually writes her own songs, plays her own guitar, so thats cool. I dont think she is Isaac Brock or James Mercer or Ben Gibbard, but this song perked my interests.
This could be due to the fact that I hate Taylor Shit and I'm actually a fan of U2.

yea im really into indie and by my own admission, im pretty close minded when it comes to stuff like this. i normally would just dismiss it as bad because its taylor swift and everything i have ever heard people play by her has been pretty bad. this song is terrific though and i cant stop listening to it.
i will say though that this song is great because of 'with or without you' and the way that they combined the two songs. im a huge u2 fan, and like i said, i really wanted to hate it just because it was one of my favorite bands being combined with someone who's music i cant really stand. probably the best mashup i've ever heard though.
I never was a U2 or Taylor Swift fan, though...tried hard not to let any of that sway my opinion.
