  • Creed, music and name. Just awful. I am proud to say I haven't heard them in years. But I Know they SUCK. I am over 35, who is nickelback? I can't keep all the shitty bands seperated. They all sound like one big turd.
  • Easily Creed, unfortunately we have all found some Nickelback to be a little jammin'
  • This is an absolutely hilarious question. There is no answer. One does not suck more than the other, they are both mindless terrible bullshit. This is like asking "if a tree falls in the woods..." or "which came first, the chicken or the egg?" They are simply awful. Their popularity is just proof that there are a LOT of stupid people out there.
  • Why don't we throw in Limp Bizkit and call it a Three Way Tie for Last (Booyah - just made a Minutemen reference. )

You know, this is the answer I had in my head. That's why I asked. Just curious to see how people would decide between the two most abhorrent bands in music history.

Nickelback, because Creed aren't very relevant anymore. I mean, yeah, I still have to suffer through crap like "Higher" and "My Sacrifice" on the radio station at work, but Nickelback are still writing the same terrible hit song over and over, and people are still buying the band's records. It's baffling to me.

The band is often criticized for being too derivative of the band Pearl Jam.[19][20] Rolling Stone stated, "Creed resembled a ham-handed version of early Pearl Jam",[21] while SPIN magazine stated that "Creed was an unremarkable, plodding muscle-bound reworking of Pearl Jam, with all of that older band's warmth and psychological intensity replaced by chest-beating bravado and blandly messianic lyrics".[22] Apparently fed up with these comparisons, bassist Brian Marshall angrily attacked Eddie Vedder, claiming Scott Stapp is a better songwriter, and criticized Pearl Jam's recent albums for "having songs without hooks"

How about re-phrasing the question to "If Scott Stapp and Chad Croker both died, how long would you celebrate for?"

Nickelback is a band for people who take music for granted, and just sweep anything but what's commercially popular under the rug.

Buying a Nickelback album, or wearing there shirts, or even attending their concert is like wearing a badge that says: "I know there is much better music out there, but I could give two shits about actually experiencing and discovering it and I'm willing to settle for mediocre bullshit."

I suppose Creed is a part of this group, but I just have more of an animosity for Nickelback. 8-)

You're dead-on about NIckelback. But I have to go with Creed. Don't forget that Creed made a living off of Jim Morrison/Eddie Vedder comparisons. So while Nickelback does suck (and your statement about it "being for people who take music for granted" is really well said), I gotta say Creed sucks more because they were posers. At least NIckelback makes it clear that they write songs about "liking you're pants around your knees" whereas Creed actually believed were the new voice of a generation....when in fact they were just bible-thumping losers who cashed in on the fact that crappy music ruled the late 90's.

You make a very valid point...

I think it's fair to say that there is no competition as to which is worth the title of "worse band" as they are both less interesting than a box of rocks. Surprisingly both bands have managed to master their own unique practices of ass-sucking and have easily become champions of wasted airwaves.

In their defense though, I have to say one thing: I'm thankful for Creed and Nickelback only because they have shown me a new level of horrid which has resulted in me raising my standards and expectations. I feel I've done my best to find the good in their newly created level of suckage.

Creed sucks more because they seem to have a sense of entitlement.

I think Nickelback know they are the "new" guys, and don't seem as conceited, but they still suck.

I totally agree At their height of popularity, Stapp really thought he was the reincarnation of Jim Morrison or something. He really thought people were like "Thank God Scott Stapp has hit the scene because THIS is what rock n roll has been missing for the last 20 years!" I never saw a guy with such delusions of grandeur. As for NIckelback, I bet no one is as surprised at their success as they are. They probably sit in their hotel after a concert saying to each other "Wow, I can't believe nobody in the crowd realizes how much we suck."
