Anyone a fan? maybe one of the biggest musical successes of Eugene Oregon since Floater. Mat plays acoustic singer songwriter music with a twist of hip hop. Reminds me of Sufjan, in that the religious element is present but it isnt overt, and isnt preachy.
Mats songs are pretty damn catchy. Just great pop songs.
Since his first album he has hit it big, getting airtime on VH1 and MTV, getting songs played during Greys Anatomy, Laguna Beach, The Hills, One Tree Hill,Scrubs, Friday Night Lights.
His voice is very reminiscent of Chris Martins.
Anyone seeking honest, real, and just plain melodious music should give Mat a listen.
