Nope... not a feminist thing.... I love cooking, I love kitchen gadgets, etc. To me, those things are just not 'personal' gifts. For Christmas (or birthdays...) I like gifts that are personal, not 'useful', but to indulge, etc. A hand held mixer, a vacuum cleaner, etc. just don't make the mark. I know I'm getting a new set of pots and pans from my inlaws. I know they paid good money for it. I know I will thank them profusely for their gift, but..... And I love cooking, spend a lot of time in the kitchen but those kind of things, I buy myself.

We give each other gifts all year long.
Not thinking jewelery or anything like that. Just helpful, thoughtful, appreciated gestures, praise and touch.

I got gold earrings and The Big Lebowski dvd......and I was more excited about my $8 dvd than my earrings!
I really didn't want anything (and unlike other girls, when I say that I mean it haha)-- I just spent $3,000 in Nov/Dec doing 4 PJ concerts in Australia and New Zealand for 2 weeks so I'm a very happy and satisfied girl! The earrings were a pleasant little surprise though!
