"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?
"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank." - Barack Obama
when you told me 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em'
i was thinkin 'death before dishonor'
I think it depends on how seriously you expected the Flaming Lips to take it. My levels were set in the "fun and quick side project" area and that's what I'm getting out of this.
I'm a Pink Floyd purist, but also like The Flaming Lips a lot. The first time I listened to it I cringed a bit. The second time the cringe was gone and I enjoyed picturing them recording it. Now I like it and have listened to it a bunch of times. They aren't trying to be Pink Floyd. They're just being themselves playing Pink Floyd tunes. It works for me.
Did you seriously think they'd actually try to make Dark Side Of The Moon better??? That's not possible, it would be like Dave Gilmour trying to re-invent Yoshimi
See These Bones
I thought the same thing...I didn't go into it expecting them to try and make it their own, I don't think they're stupid enough to make such a move. They just wanted to cover some music that they obviously like, but keep it's dignity, which I think they did. Nice, fun little project.

The fuzzy bass line on Breathe is pretty cool too. Nice garagey tribute to DSotM, brings back some of the earlier Lips sounds.

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all
