    I respectfully query why the OP finds this so shocking considering that we live in a consumerist and capitalist society? There is very little that is insane about hard-to-find t-shirts selling at inflated prices.

    Well how many of these were actually made? If there were only 400 made, you have to figure that at least half have been destroyed over the years, which means there are only 200 of these in existence. 500 does seem a bit steep but this is a super rare shirt. When I see this stuff on ebay I always question the authenticity. This could have been made for 10 bucks.

    I love how it is advertised as "nicely worn in", like that is a plus. I seriously doubt this seller will get what they are asking for this.
