And I planted my bolo knife in the neck of mad John Finn. I took his wretched life.
Now I'm over near the bandstand, every hand moving on John Finn's wife...

It's good that there was a limit, though. If not, I'd probably still be typing that post.

I'm taking a guitar class where we're playing all PJ acoustic songs. The instructor asked us to send in suggestions for stuff we'd like to play. He didn't tell us how many songs to send him. My list had 27 songs on it -- and that was after I cut it down. I think I originally had close to 60.

I was the same after seeing them in Glasgow a couple of weeks back. Amazing live song and played to perfection!
Hard to pick 5 though from such a long career with differnt vocalists so from the different eras mine would be:

Paul Dianno; Wrathchild, Remember Tomorrow, Murders In The Rue Morgue, Strange World, Prodigal Son.
Bruce Pt.1; Hallowed Be Thy Name, Children Of The Damned, Back In The Village, To Tame A Land, Where Eagles Dare.
Blaze Bayley; Did I just dream this happened?? Pass...
Bruce Pt.2; Blood Brothers, Dance Of Death, Coming Home, Ghost Of The Navigator, Montsegur.

After the most recent gig I wish I'd gone to more gigs since Bruce & Adrian rejoined because they are still incredible to watch.
Like a book among the many on a shelf...

    Dublin 02 Arena - 22/6/10. Belfast Odyssey Arena - 23/6/10. London Hyde Park - 25/6/10. Berlin Wuhlheide - 30/6/10.
    Manchester MEN - 20/06/12. Manchester MEN - 21/06/12

I remember the casette version had the songs reordered -- the American release, anyway. I think they may have cut a few minutes off of "Rime" as well. Maybe some/all of side four was omitted (Wrathchild, 22 Acacia Avenue, Phantom of the Opera, Children of the Damned...)? The original CD release was definitely missing all of side four. I bought it anyway.

I think I need to go spin this on vinyl.

Also, the first post of this thread was exactly 25 years to the day that I saw my first Maiden show (December 21, 1984).

What i truly love most about maiden is right from day one they just had that driving sound, its hard to really put into words, but steves thumping bass, and the guitar rhythms, and mostly the shear ability to turn the tempo and rhythm of a song on a heartbeat. and one song that i would love to see live that defines this sound is phantom of the opera.

    and another i guess.. transylvania.

You just inspired me to put Seventh Son on. One of the best albums ever, in my opinion. Not a duff moment on it - and yes, the title track in particular is brilliant. The last two minutes are just... yeah, they're very good!

    Another awesome song from it:
