Hope I’ve got this posted in the right place, I am having issues with my computer. I've been plagued with several viruses  over the past 6 months and have had to get my computer wiped several times. This last time I couldn’t afford another trip to the computer shop and had one of the IT people at work give me a hand.

Windows got re-installed but now there are absolutely no drivers. I can’t get to the internet because my Ethernet driver is not installed. I've been able to determine that it is the RAS Async Adapter. While I can locate the download on CNET I can’t actually get it to download so that I can transfer the driver from this comp to my desktop.

I know that Pearl Jam fans come with all sorts of backgrounds and are always willing to help so if anyone could possible lend me some advise on how to get my comp up and running again I would be very grateful.

Thanks All!

There are sites like drivers.com, but you should try to avoid them if possible.

I suggest going directly the manufacturer's website for your drivers (DVD-ROM, video/sound card, etc).
Use a friends computer, and download them all on a flash drive. Windows should recognize the flash as an external drive.
    Install from there.

Or you could just get the ethernet driver, that will at least allow you to get internet access.
  • Go to your computer manufacturers website and get the drivers from there. Get a flash drive, save the drivers to the drive and then run them on the computer. Since you have so much trouble do not delete them from the flash drive.

Not downloading porn would also prevent you from getting viruses.

Use Super Anti Spyware and Malware Bytes. Run the scans once a week to keep your computer clean. Wiping your hard drive should only be done if all else fails.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.

    How weird..

I've never had to install ethernet drivers and i've formatted various times on xp, vista and windows 7...It's generally built into the OS as its such a basic core thing..
