Book Reccomendation web site

Does anyone here have a favorite web site they use to find new books? I'm looking for one with a search by category feature and a synposis. I've been using Amazon and Barnes and Noble's site but I was wondering if anyone has an alternative or possibly better site they use?

Have you tried "goodreads"?
It's a book recommendation site and also a networking site, so you can share your book lists with friends.
You can also join discussions with folks reading the same books.
I think you'll find a much larger, and potentially better, list of choices than on Amazon or similar sites.

I'm part of a couple book sites, but I forgot what they are. I rely predominately on Amazon.com reviews. Also, I do a google blog search on the title to see if others have blogged about it.

My list at the beginning of the year usually starts with books from New York Times Editors Picks from the past couple years, and include a smattering of National Book Critic Cirlce award winners with a few Pulitzer Prize, and National Book award winners. Some of the books from this list are very good, but the best result of this list is the "If you like this book, then you'll like that book" review, and also a look at an author's other books.

Thanks for the replies. I checked out that goodreads site, and during my time off for the holidays I plan on really spending some time digging deeper on there.
