RATM - http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2228594104

I could not purchase the song in the US to count for the contest but did donate to Shelter via paypal
Can anyone figure out how to get us in from the US?

Since it's a download, can you not just to to any UK site such as play.com or amazon.co.uk to pay and download? I can download from amazon.com (US) so the US should be able to do the same in the UK.

Use a US based proxy server.

Even though this doesn't directly answer your question.. the answer lies within...

    lists of proxies

Essentially a proxy makes it look as if you are loging into a site from a different area. So, for example, you use a proxy to hide the fact you are in the UK and make the website think you are in USA.

Its all a load of nonsense anyway. Sone own both songs. They are laughing all the way to the bank. Was the guy who started this called Sonny??? :D

I don't think Sony matters in this case. The focus was on music and the drivel that is offered to 'us' when it comes to crap Christmas no. 1s. And yes... Sony are going to have a good Christmas!

But surely it should also go as far as corporate greed. All this does is serve that. The harder the battle between the 2 songs the further away the ideals of this battle seem to me. And anyway I have no problem with mainstream music being spoon fed bollocks and I dont care for the Xmas number 1s. I would prefer the music I love to remain less popular.

posted from fb: (this did not work on a mac but should on a pc.

If you are in the UK or not in the UK you can still download Killing In The Name for FREE!!!

We need to "Take the power back" and we need your help to do it!!!
I tried this last night & it works...

If you are not in the UK make sure you put UK in the necessary place prompted...

    Follow these steps...

To begin with, please don't make multiple accounts with this, there's no reason why all 850,000 can't create one account and the charts company cant hassle us about bulk buying!

If you don't have a Credit Card and want to support Rage for free, there's still a way and I have confirmed with the Charts Company that its eligible!*

    1) Go to http://www.nokiamusic.co.uk/ Download and install the player on the main page insuring you select UK when it gives you the setup options!

    2) Open the program and click "Join Now", Click "Join Nokia Music", fill out the details to create the account (No credit card details are needed)

    4) Go to the main Store page and to the left you will see a box that says "Redeem Pin" Click on "Continue"

    5) Enter ONE random of these codes, doesn't matter which one! Each one will give you £4 free credit and that's all you need to buy all 5 versions of the song, you can get up to £16 worth if you use all the codes, but please don't as Nokia may pull it if its abused!

    MJYM-JM2R-DWVQ-6PYG
    GGP6-XC53-YYFL-PHM6
    VLBV-MPBX-XDNQ-F79V

    6) Search for: Rage Against The Machine - Killing in the name of

    7) Click the Orange down arrow next to each of the songs, then click the blue tick.

Congratulations you have just contributed [=

Thanks to the others who found this method! Now lets spread the word!

*I rang The Official UK Charts Company to see if tracks bought from Nokia Ovi Player are still eligible for the UK top 40 singles chart. They confirmed that they are as long as its bought with a UK account!

OK, this is how I did it with an Intel-based Mac with up-to-date Firefox from the Rep. of Ireland. I think it should work everywhere outside the UK. The only requirement is that you have a Paypal account.

Go to www.daveproxy.co.uk, or use any other online proxy program that gives you a UK address. Get rid of the ad that covers the middle of the page (you'll have to do this in every new page you visit, unfortunately)

Where it says 'Enter URL', paste the address:
http://www.7digital.com/artists/rage-ag ... machine-5/ (or any other page with KITN available for download). Select Killing in the name. Proceed to checkout. Ignore the warning (continue anyway) and create an account.

For the account, the only UK information you need to supply is a postcode. UK postcodes are a series of 5 to 7 characters, letters and numbers. More info in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UK_postcodes

After you create an account, select PAYPAL as way of payment. (you cannot use a credit card as it must be an UK one). However, when trying to access PAYPAL it will give you an error, due to the proxy interfering with paypal security features.

In the error page, look at the URL on top of the page. COPY and PASTE it on a new tab. This will access your paypal account without the proxy. If it doesn't work, try several times until it does. You may have to remove cookies or remove cache (Tools>Clear Recent History). Try NOT to access Paypal until you're not under a proxy. If you do, Paypal will see someone accessing the same account from 2 different locations.

When you're logged into your Paypal account, the location of the business and the price should be UK and £. Authorise payment. I did this and it worked. Again I cannot guarantee it will work to everybody with a Mac, but if you're stuck trying to purchase from abroad and can't find a way, try this. I hope it helps.
