lost a great friend tonight.

I don't really have any details. maybe that is what is making it so hard.

I found out by a text.

She was a great person, a great friend. anyone who knew her was better for it.

I can say without a doubt, that after my wife left , without her and a few others, that I would not be here today.

I was told that she had died, then found out a few hours later that she had not been pronounced dead yet. They had taken her off of life support, but not pronounced. I could have gone there before hand, had I not been told that she was in fact gone, before she was "gone".

we had a friendship that did not require us talking to each other every day, week, sometimes even months.

I do know that she sometimes came to this board to read stuff that I have posted in the poetry section.

I'm going to miss her.

I don't know why I'm posting this here. I guess I just don't have anyone else to say these things to.

I love you Daniel, whatever pain you felt from a lost child, you don't have to feel that anymore.
I don't know what I believe as far as an afterlife. FUCK, I hope there is one, and you can now be at peace
with your daughter.

thank you. she was such a great friend.

I really can't say enough about her and how she helped me .......be here today.


she was going through some really hard times herself.

now she is done with that.

for that, I can be happy .

but it still stings.

I imagine it does, and there isn't much anyone can really say to help you with that unfortunately. Except offer thier condolonces - which kinda seems not enough...but ....

Sleep is hard in times like this. I find moving to the couch with a blanket and pillow and putting the T.V on (volume low though) makes you feel not so alone sometimes.

I think thats the key here...knowing other people have lost, as you have - and finding comfort knowing you are with others who understand.

I lost a very good friend of mine in an horrific car accident 11 years ago now, and I still think of her, and the loss. Not only for me, but her family who have to continue on without her. Even though its fucking hard now, and in the weeks and months ahead - after a while you learn to live FOR them, not without them.

Just remember to cry and scream and punch pillows and/or couches when you feel the need...dont let the pain sit...the best you have done is vocalised it and told others - so now hopefully you can have comfort in knowing that some of us do understand.

Remember your friend in every sense you can, and keep appreciating all she gave to you and your life.
