  • I'm going...
  • what are you hearing so far? Im hearing BIG U2 & The WHO rumors
  • choopchoop Posts: 1,060
    I'm going, haven't missed since 03.

The rumors are strong for headliners to be The Who, RHCP, Daft Punk, Furthur (most recent incarnation of the Dead) and Lady Gaga. It should also be the triumphant return of MMJ.

I wouldn't hold my breath for PJ.

U2 has a show in Denver close to Broo. Wouldn't count on it.

unless Roo made a deal with them that U2 wouldn't be announced at Roo until their solo show went on sale. I mean, it would be easy money for U2, since they wouldn't need that monster stage, and just play on a regular stage like normal rock stars.
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

  • Yeah, I would kill for The Who to come. Its gonna be a big downer if U2 is headlining. Kind of like last year when they announced Bruce...I was like...Eh. :x
  • I've been the last two years and absolutely love it...last year around this time I predicted Springsteen would be there and said him being there would be the only way I would go again...this year I've told friends that I will only go if U2 is there...I would like the opportunity to see them play a regular show without all the gadgets and gizmos and all that crap...just playing a rock show.

I would like to see the RHCP's but that wouldn't be enough to make me feel like I HAVE to go....financial situations don't make it a really good idea for me at this point but who knows...maybe things will be looking up by then and I'll head to the farm again...I really hate to miss it for sure because it is a magical experience.

GO IF YOU NEVER HAVE....YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

  • Usually it is annouced Feb 1st. , MMJ should def. be making there triuphphant return..Friday late night main stage?? Can totally see The WHO headlining which would be great, i have seen them before and just to see them from the pit would be even better. I loved 08 w/PJ & Metallica, but I think last year had a better lineup. I cannot wait, it will be our 1st purchase after we get back from our honeymoon in Jamaica!!!

I gotta see Furthur playing there, there was no Dead related music there last year and that's what gotta change. It would be sweet to see Eddie in the tent, could finally burn at a solo show

  • Apparently the dead want nothing to do with bonnaroo after 08's Kanye debacle. Evidence of this, Phil Lesh said he was done with Bonnaroo because he was ripped off stage half way through his 4 hour set because Kanye wanted complete silence. So than, not 1 member of the Dead for the 1st time in Bonnaroo's existance do NOT play the roo last year, and than when the Dead do play a festival they go up against bonnaroo and play up and coming Rothbury festival...so Im thinking maybe the Dead are done..thanks again Kanye.........

i never thought i would live to see the day where Phil f'n Lesh would utter on stage... "ok folks, we are gonna cut our set short because the Kanye West show is about to start. thanks for coming out, we will see you tomorrow at our acoustic show"

the worst part...tKanye didnt appear on stage for another 2 hours

I've been to six Bonnaroos. After attending Rothbury Festival in Michigan last year, I will probably never go to Bonnaroo again unless the line up is phenominal. Much better vibe. If Further play any where, it will be there.

ive heard amazing things about Rothbury.
I just like the idea that it takes place in a totally different atmosphere....not no a dry dusty farm in the heart of Tennessee.
