please read, hidden picks in donuts

this may sound a little silly and desperate, but i figured i'd give it a shot. it has been a long time since i posted anything on the boards, but i read them all the time, and i recently read one about guitar picks from shows. During the 2006 tour in Pittsburgh 6/23 I was on the floor about 17 rows back (row Q) and near the end of the show a random glazed donut was launched from Stones side of the stage from up front, which scored a direct hit to my forehead. I was a little puzzled as to why fans would bring donuts to a show? Were they peace offerings? anyways, a few minutes later I told a fellow fan about my incident and pointed out to him the donut on the floor. He picked up the donut and tore into it only to find that there was 4 or 5 picks inside. I'm guessing a tech loaded up the donut and sent it back to try to get some picks to the fans that werent so close to the stage. As soon as he discovered the hidden treasures he briskly started to leave. I stopped him and asked him if I could get one of the picks, and as he was walking away, he said they were for a friend that was sick, and poof he was gone. Now dont get the wrong idea that I wouldnt love to make a sick PJ fans day, but there were plenty of picks to give at least one up, after all, I was the one to point it out to him in the first place. Now, shame on me for not immediately doing an autopsy on the donut, but it never really crossed my mind, I just chalked it up as a funny incident. I have thought about that donut for a long time, and how close i was to getting a pick from a show. I could buy one, but that ain't the same. Actually it makes me feel a little sick when i think about it, so if anyone wants to make a sick PJ fans day you can send me a pick.(Ha), so to end this novel, if you are out there donut man, or know the donut man, show some love. And to all PJ fans, if you ever see an unidentified flying donut at a show, pick it up, and SHARE the love. I know this was a long shot, but i thought it was funny enuf to share, and vent my frustration. Has anyone else ever experienced something like this? thank you for your time

thankfully haven't been hit with any donuts :) i would say, though, that if anyone has seats on the FLOOR to immediately have a quick look around on the floor when you arrive at your seats. on more than one occasion, we've picked up guitar picks that were clearly tossed out during soundcheck (Mike and Ed's) not to mention during the show guitar picks are tossed and end up on the ground without anyone noticing (again, Ed's pick).

I got one of Mike's picks after the Toronto 03 show. Like you said, it was just sitting on the ground after the show was over. After the Vic show, I tried to scour the floor for picks but the security guards wouldn't let me walk towards the stage. :(

didn't i end up walking right up to the stage after the show at the Vic? i seem to recall being right up against the barrier and watching the tear-down and setlist begging :)

I've found picks from previous shows on the floor before. Always something hiding down there! Especially around the edge of barricades.
I have one pj pick, Mike threw it at me and got a direct hit in the forehead before I realized what was going on. He had a good laugh ;)

I missed a pick sitting on the floor at an EV solo show in Santa Barbara. Usher escorted me to the wrong seats - I noticed about 15 mins before Liam and moved a row back. Dude gets to his seat (the one I had just vacated), looks down and says "sweet!" and finds a new style EV pick on the floor that must have been tossed during soundcheck. I was so bummed.
