When all is said and done...

After buying the tree, the gifts, the food, the cookies, etc. etc.

How much will you end up spending???

It looks like we will spend $600-$800....

This isnt a pissing contest...
I realize some will spend more than others, for many different reasons.

I am just curious.....

Damnit Speedy! Aren't you too old for this childish shit?

    hehehehehehehehe
  • after my best friends gift and gifts for her kids (b days included though)... then shipping to the great white north.... ordering a first pressing vinyl for the new guy plus frame.... sweets for the family and coworkers.... I'll probably spend 300$$ tops, throw in some good wine too oh and I bought all the seasons of It's always sunny in Philadelphia for myself :P

it's a small christmas for me, but it's better than no christmas like last year. (*my tree is artificial and my parents put it up for me while I was away for a few days for work)

we actually did pretty well this year. we bought gifts early & really stuck to our budget. it's tough b/c there are so many kids on my side of the family, but we were able to buy gifts for everyone & only spent half of what we spent last year! i still don't know how we did it! total: about $500 (including decorations, tree, gifts, etc)

    I set a budget of $650 this year . . .

. . . and blew right past it yesterday. hehehehehe

I am such a sucker when it comes to Christmas. I know it shouldn't be about the gifts and the money but I am really tight with money the rest of the year so splurging is fun.

what about going out and celebrating tho?
that's where we spend the bulk of our $$$.
we go out a LOT during the holiday season, try new restaurants, drink often, etc, etc. it adds up.
    tree and poinsetta = $90.
    gifts + cards/wrap/ribbon = $300
    celebrating = $500+ :mrgreen:

i get that this is an inside joke and thus i am not meant to know wtf you 2 are talking about....
however, this all just reminds me of the scene in the flick the break-up....jennifer aniston, vince vaughn.......she wanted 12 lemons for a centerpiece, i think he only bought 3......and the dialogue over this, the back and forth.....priceless......

I'm going to need a bigger table.

yep, you'll definitely need to use all of the leaves.

perhaps even rent a banquet table to accomodate the gynormity of said centerpiece(s).

cuz nothin says Christmas like a properly placed, perfectly arranged centerpiece.

    nothing.
    Nice shirt.

Tamales are on Christmas EVE! And not just me but half of this state. More south Texas though I guess.

Anyway, it helps having kids so yeah, we go all out for them.

And we have seriously fallen off the Christmas card wagon this year.

    i dunno....

    too much i suppose.

    hotel is 400
    gas will be 150 ish
    food for 6 days...yikes
    presents for the gf 200
entertainment for 6 days. oh no
maybe a few presents for a few other people.

1500 or so it looks like. yikes. hard to believe it would be that much. travel is nice, the bill sucks

  • $500-$600 is probably a good guess... maybe a little more if you add in some new lights that I had to buy this year for outside. They all worked when I put them away, but half of them didn't when I got them back out... bastards...

The thing that I am most happy about is that we won't have any credit card bills for any of it.

probably $300 to $500 when all said and done... $20 on the tree, the rest on gifts... thankfully no kids of my own to buy for

And Speedy, there is no need for a centerpiece, the meal is the centerpiece, or at least that's my thought hahahaha
