Have any of you locals ever been here to see these two??

Mike Masse

He is amazing. Lots of great covers on youtube recorded at "The Pie". I'm thinking of booking a ski vacation just to go see this guy.

On the first one, I can see him lipsyncing, seriously.

Paranoid Android watch his mouth starting at 0:42 and watch very closely as he finishes the word "head". He stops singing the end of "head" but you hear it very clearly for another 2 seconds.

I think he says he runs his vocals through a laptop and then syncs up with the video for optimal audio quality, so it might look like that. There are a lot of videos, if you check a bunch of them out, I think you might change your opinion, but I could be wrong.

I would love to find out I'm wrong. If it's accurate, he has a great voice.

But... typically when there's an audio-sync problem, it persists thru the whole video, or even for just 30 seconds until it's corrected. On this it was just that one word, and that's typically how you can tell someone who's lip synching versus singing... but I'm just judging from what I'm seeing versus what I'm hearing.

Also, if he's running his audio thru a laptop, then adding to the video, that means there could be vocal effects (E.g. something to make his pitch perfect) which make him sound better than in person.

He seems so good, but it always sounds like there are about 5 people watching and barely clapping after he finishes a song..

he just responded to my post re: lip synched question. He said he dubbed that particular moment, but the rest he says is accurate. assuming it's legit, it's amazing!

Never seen this guy, but I'll go...been a while since I've been to The Pie.

The Pie has some fantastic pizza. Este is a close runner up here in the valley.

Ever been to Este? They have some killer NY style pizza. There is one on 300 S. (near State Street) and another on 2100 S and 900 E....

They have rules against Red Sox attire and ranch dressing

Sweet! I'll wear my Yankee hat that I'm wearing right now. Este wasn't there when I lived there. I would have noticed the one on 21st S. and 9th E since I lived up the street from there.

Yeah, you may be able to get some kind of discount with the Yank gear ;)

They have a good selection of micro-brewed beers too. The pizza is one of a kind as well. Here is the website with the locations incase my addresses are wrong...my memory isn't always my best asset.

I found this guy by accident a couple of weeks ago and have been listening non-stop since then. Holy shit he's good. I even bought the 80+ MP3's that he has for all the YouTube vids for like $15.

Here are two of my favorites:

    Old Man (Neil Young) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQcnedcNTes

    One Tree Hill (U2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yo1XCpEJOpo
Man he absolutely kills this. I hadn't heard this song since like 1989. In 7th and 8th grade I nearly melted my Joshua Tree tape, and this was always my favorite song on there. So I was stunned when I saw he did a cover of it, and to me it sounds even better than the original. The pathetic applause at the end is just an abomination.

I swear my wife and I are both on the verge of planning a vacation just so we can make a side trip to this place the next time he's playing there.
