True Love

True Love

I miss the pitter patter of their feet
Covering them at night with their sheets
The images linger of watching them sleep
Reminiscing of the memories parents keep
Feeling vulnerable at times and inept at motherhood
Although the uncertainty and struggles led to a greater good
The three of you are grown and molded
It’s up to you whether your clothes are folded
You are in control of your destiny and future
Hopefully you will find love that you nurture
Enjoy each day and remember to smile
Hold onto the special memories of your life for awhile
Never under estimate the simplicity of human emotion
And follow your hopes and dreams with continued devotion
You know you are loved by your parents each day
And in spirit we will always be with you every step of the way
Believe you can succeed and be true
To the morals and beliefs that set you free
Venture out each day with your faith and hope
These beliefs will bring you peace and help you cope
Understand that life will sometimes beat you down to the ground
Just dig in and climb upward until the hope is found

    Oh my, I missed this at holiday time- I love it, it is beautiful
    I can relate and it rhymes awesome- its a keeper for me thank you! :)

    Thank you and I am glad you enjoyed it. I wanted to thank you for suggesting my husband and I watch UP. We watched it last night and really enjoyed it. Take care.

    yes that is the finest movie I have seen in a good bit. I wonder if it will inspire you to write something what with the message of the movie being so very beautiful. I know you could do it justice :D Thanks again for posting your lovely poem
