Sundance Channel will air Body of War at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11.
by Mark Dawidziak/Plain Dealer Television Critic
Talk-show host Phil Donahue, a graduate of St. Edward High School in Lakewood, is the co-writer, director and producer of the documentary "Body of War,'' which the Sundance Channel will air at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, to recognize Veterans Day.
Winner of the National Board of Review award for best documentary, the film explores the experience of Iraq War veteran Tomas Young, whose spine was severed by a sniper's bullet within a week of arriving in Iraq. The injury left him paralyzed for life at age 25.
Written and directed in partnership with Ellen Spiro, Donahue's "Body of War'' features two original songs written and performed by Eddie Vedder. The documentary follows Young as he returns home to Missouri, marries in August 2005 and begins the next chapter of his life as an outspoken member of Iraq Veterans Against the War.

I was browsing through the "Free Movies on Demand" for Time Warner & there it was! My wife & I were going to go out to catch a movie, but instead stayed in & watched the film. It's an emotional & inspiring movie and one that I won;t soon forget.
So if you have TWC, look at the "Free Movies on Demand" & scroll to the Sundance menu.I LOVE MUSIC.

Phil Donahue was just on the Racehl Maddow Show on MSNBC and mentioned the movie ...
and ... gave props to Pearl Jam ... directing people to buy the DVD here!
I'm sure his segment on Rachel's show will be on the MSNBC site tonight or tomorrow!"You're one of the few Red Sox fans I don't mind." - Newch91
"I don't believe in damn curses. Wake up the damn Bambino and have me face him. Maybe I'll drill him in the ass." --- Pedro Martinez0 -

I agree...it's no longer 'just' a song to me."I'm not present, I'm a drug that makes you dream"0 -
Robert Byrd is a peach.
at 4-3-03, in OKC, i started a 'NO MORE WAR' chant.
Ed stopped the show and looked at me (in 6th row)
..i got on camera.
...the crowd had trouble follering...it WAS OKC afterall...
i like to feel i had something to do with this song.WOOT!0 -

thanks to the Vets out there........no matter how long or short you served.
i've been in rehabs. I've seen what newly injured go thru. thou it's different for me because i've been disabled all my life. but my 2 cents: if you become disabled or know somebody that is.....
don't let your mate be your sole care provider!
in the movie he wasn't told the state will pay for aides....or he didn't like the idea....or the damn milt didn't give the insurance to.
awesome movie....awesome.*~Pearl Jam will be blasted from speakers until morale improves~*0
