Benaroya Hall?

edited December 2009 in The Porch
So, I just got this, and the sound quality is really, really bad. The vocals sound like they are coming through a tin can. What I am wondering is if there is a better recording of this out there? Thanks! :D

It's one of the best, if not the best, sound quality live recordings out there.. you sure you don't have a audience recording or shitty mps? Check your speakers.

I think it may be an audience recording, The crowd is quite a bit louder than the band. I'll have to look for the real recording.

Easily one of the best recorded live shows PJ has ever done...if not THE BEST.

The OP must have some loose speaker wires or something!

The copy on pearljambootlegs.org is a VERY shitty audience recording. That is all I can think of. The CD sounds great and don't even get me going on the vinyl.

Ah ha! That explains it
I had heard how awesome it was, so that copy was really, really disappointing.

Min'es ALRIGHT!...it's a bit 'Echoey' But I think that it's DUE to it being IN a Hall...:)
  • I still get goosebumps when I hear the crowd sing those couple lines at the end of Black...

    EPIC!

There's 2 sweet audience recordings of this:

    SP-CMC-20 > SP-SPSB-1 (no bass rolloff) > Sony MZ-R37

main source: cmc34->psp3->sbm1->d100 25th row center

Though I do love the 5.1 mix! ;)

I disagree. I used to love Benaroya, but after hearing Ed on his solo tours, he just sounds monotone on Benaroya.

I'll have to analyze this..... I heard it live during the solo tour too, but still felt the B. Hall was best.... let me go into the lab and check it out....
