Snow was unfairly bashed because he was a white Canadian trying to sound Rastafarian. Call it the Vanilla Ice backlash. That album was really good. It was really big in the clubs in Germany. I was in the army then and even the guys that were gang banging in Detroit in their younger years loved it.

True. But technically, he was speaking patois and not trying to sound Rastafarian. Rastas actually make up a very small fraction of the population in JA and for the most part are looked down upon. But anyway, Snow is fairly well respected in JA and most of his other albums did very well there. In fact, his biggest hit is not so much Informer as is Anything For You which he did with Buju, Beenie Man, Louie Culture, Terror Fabulous and Kulcha Knox. Moreover, last I heard Informer remains the highest charting reggae single of all time. Even surpassing Bob Marley, Sean Paul and Shaggy. So yeah that song is NUTS!
