Surprised to see Elbow in the #2 spot.

Elbow is a very good band that could benefit from some exposure in North America opening up for Pearl Jam :)

    +1!! My thoughts exactly!

Joseph Arthur is another not-so-well-known artist I really like as well that he put on there!

Glad to see some love for Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros.

And of course he loves Ted Leo!

Yeah, I saw he also had My Morning Jacket, Idlewild and Sleater-Kinney on his list as well.

Not sure if any other opening bands are on his list, but its nice to see a list like this where you can see that Pearl Jam is also a fan of the bands that they bring on in support of them. :)
  • i remember jeff was asked something similar about 7 or 8 years ago and he had avril lavigne's first album on his list for albums of the year. i bet he is embarrassed by that now. totally had to be because he thought she was cute and she is a skateboarder. just sayin.
  • One thing is for sure - Jeff has a much cooler list than Lars or Kirk from Metallica

Lars lists Sean Paul and Kirk lists Afroman :?
    2006 - Astoria, Dublin, Leeds
    2007 - London
    2009 - London, Manchester, London
    2010 - Dublin, Belfast, London
    2011 - Alpine Valley x2
    2012 - Isle of Wight, Manchester x2

I wonder if he would change his opinion on PJ Harvey if he knows that she hates them. A couple of years back she grilled them big time. I really like the Stories record though.
    Eastern Creek 95,Syd 1 98,Bris 2 98, Syd 1&2 03, Reading Fest 06, Bris 1 06, London 09, Hyde Park 10, Gold Coast BDO 14 Budapest 22 Krakow 22 Amsterdam 22 St Paul 1&2 23 Chicago 1&2 23 Chicago 1&2 24 New York 1 24 Philly 1&2 24 Boston 1&2 24 Gold Coast 24 Melbourne 1 24 Sydney 1&2 24

    i thought that was mike?

anyways jeff's list is only about 1/2 right ;)
  • Don't see Pearl Jam on either list. Obviously this guy don't know squat about good music.

Which is what everyone would say if this was anyone else but Jeff....
  • Nice list! I am especially happy to see that PJ Harvey album on there at # 1 - I think it might well be my #1 album of the decade also. I know someone said Harvey disssed Pearl Jam a few years back (I vaguely remember that), but who knows what she feels now. Whatever, I don't care if all my fave bands like each other. I think she's been one of the best musicians of the past two decades, easily. I saw her open for U2 back when Stories from City... came out - she was incredible! 8 or 9 years later, she's the best thing I remember about that concert, actually! U2 was fine, but she was a revelation.
  • I love Jeff. My Morning Jacket and Ryan Adams both good calls. Everybody rips Ted Leo and the Pharmacists but Shake the Sheets might be on my personal list as well. That album rocks really hard and is a breath of fresh air for those who haven't experienced it. Honestly, I wouldnt be too disappointed if they opened for PJ in 2010.
"FF, I've heard the droning about the Sawx being the baby dolls. Yeah, I get it, you guys invented baseball and suffered forever. I get it." -JearlPam0925
  • I didn't expect to list any metal albums. (Isis and Mastodon)
  • thats why most of my favo pj song written by Jeff
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
    "..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
  • I love that he loves Ryan Adams. :D
