I just saw Furthur on friday night and that show blew my mind like a dead related show hasn't before. Check these guys out. They are capturing the magic! For those who don't know it's a Bob Weir, Phil Lesh project. They are amazing.

After seeing PL&F in 2008, The Dead in 2009, I'm hoping to be able to hit Furthur when they play Buffalo in 2010.

Just saw them this Saturday at Coney Island... If I closed my eyes I could have sworn it was a GD show from the 90's... They really were terrific... Much better than the Dead IMO... I do love Warren Haynes but they guy they got from they Dark Side Orchestra was a dead on Jerry both in voice and guitar work...

Took my 7 year old and I thought after seeing PJ he would not love the more orchestral groove of Furthur but he really loved them... Especially throwing stones... so I have hope... Fun for him that he loves bands that release boot legs... Just ordered the show...

Not getting to see furthur this tour (Phil seems to avoid Southern California, there's only one date in L.A.).

But the Rhythm Devils are going out on tour too, Mickey Hart & Bill Kreutzman. Everytime I've seen Mickey I've never been disappointed.

"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

I just hope they give DSO their Jerry back after Bob & Phil are done with him.

Throw all the stones ya want, but DSO was nothing less than a young hot grateful dead that was ALWAYS ON. Thought they sound better than the Grateful Dead themselves. I'm not even gonna duck.

Sorry. I was away when this was asked, and just spotted it now. Long story short. By 1989 i was in a band and found myself obssesed with making the band work and less and less interested in music that wasn't my own. Hence I went to fewer and fewer shows. Now that the band is done, I find myself going to more shows than I can afford. It's funny, there is a wilderness between some of my first and second shows for some bands.

    U2 - First show 1987. Second show 2005
    Pearl Jam - 1993. 2003
    Santana - 1990. 2008
    Allman Bros. - 1990. 2006
Black Crowes - 1993. 2006 ...and the list goes on.

  • Oh yeah, I thought Furthur was great. Really tight. Can't wait to see them again.
