Yeah I know a lot of people here hate him but anyway I think some will enjoy this.
John Mayer doing a clinic at his former music school - talking about inspiration and then "One of the greatest melodies i`ve ever heard...." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpVhqXUFYUw

He`s so right!

Very well spoken .... He seems like a pretty bright mind....I enjoy some of his music..... his facial expressions are kind of weird/funny sometimes... it looks like he wants to drop a major dump! Nothing against those of you who have to drop major dumps!

he knows music theory, and that a long way to making the guitar sound awesome, chord progression etc, i think he went to juilard. He has to be bad ass he has a arm sleeve!

And Ed wrote that in High School right? Interesting clip. I think we analyse song writing too much sometimes though? Some people have a gift. I think the harder you try to write a song the more difficult it becomes. Most artists have said the biggest hit they've written was the one that was written in 10 minutes.

John Mayer writes too many flaky poppish tunes...thats his only downfall.

İf you want to see some of the most amazing guitar work ever witnessed, look no further than his Blu Ray that he has out...Where the Light Shines or something like that.

Then, skip to his Hendrix cover of Wait Until Tomorrow...his solo at the end is truly mind-blowing. John Mayer is a rare talent...the guitar is truly a part of his body and you could put him up there with the greats in terms of ability. İf only he could do more of his blues and less of his pop!

i don't think he went to Juliard, but i know he went to Berklee College of Music. the guy can flat-out play....i'm not a huge fan of his music, though...except for that trio record...that's not too shabby.
    I LOVE MUSIC.

That was really fascinating. He's quite a smart guy.
All the rusted signs, we ignore throughout our lives, choosing the shiny ones instead...

And he who forgets, will be destined to remember...

Great find. John is actually an extremely talented person, especially from what I've seen of him playing live concerts on tv. I think by the end of his career, he'll be more respected than now.

  • I like a lot of John Mayer stuff, and I do think he's very talented even if I don't love his general style of music. But I def. agree with whoever said he makes weird facial expressions.

I love "Stitched Up" that he did with Herbie Hancock.
