Gradient goes from yellow to red (darker = better, if you are a PJ fan that is)
2010 tour included, except the 6.7 country which is not known/confirmed yet.

Number of times they played (festivals included)
HUNGARY, SLOVENIA, CROATIA, FINLAND, TURKEY, GREECE=1
SCOTLAND = 2
CZECH REPUBLIC, BELGIUM=3
DENMARK, NORWAY, AUSTRIA,SWEDEN=4
POLAND, SWITZERLAND=5
IRELAND, PORTUGAL=7
FRANCE=8
SPAIN=10
ITALY=15
THE NETHERLANDS=17
ENGLAND including WALES (1) =22
GERMANY=24

Any thoughts?

Slovenia is the smallest country that has been visited (ten years ago), otherwise Netherlands is an exception with it's number, whereas the other big numbers go nicely together with GPD or influence in EU.

    Huh, I never knew they played that many times in Germany and England, granted I assume most of those times are from before the 2000 tour.
  • The only band, togeather with Tori Amos, I listen to that doesnt seem to want to return to Sweden...

    as much as they bum The Who and other English bands you would think they would come here a lot more..
  • i can't see anything in the link - blocked at work, but very interesting numbers.
    i think the netherlands b/c they are in such a good location and sure...the weed. ;)
    i had a great time seeing them in nijmegen back in 2007. :mrgreen:
    italy 2006 is a true life-highlight for me, and the band has stated their love for that country many, many times.

    i wonder how many times they've played say NY metro, boston or philly...just from a comparison perspective?
    and conversely, many of the smaller US cities i am sure have gotten a lot less love than some cities in europe, and elsewhere totally ingnored. let's face it, they are human beings, we have a finite amount of time, etc, etc. even pearl jam can't do it *all*...

    thanks for posting!

    If we divide EUROPE on just North and South in the optical middle - France number cut on half and Switzerland and Austria put to South half; the score is 100: 50 for the North

    If we divide Europe on just East and West in the optical middle - Germany (sorry for this) and Italy cut in half, Denmark to West and Sweden and Finland to East; the score is 108: 42 for the West

    So South - East has got least attention.

    Btw I have no idea why am I doing this. I always wondered how and why they pick some countries over some others...but I don't think this has gotten me any closer :oops:

    They've only ever played in Wales once, Cardiff in June 2000. I hope you haven't included Wales in your England total or there'll be a ruck coming! :D

    Cool post though, interesting to see the numbers.

  • Yeah I'm sorry..for convenient's sake I've put Belfast into Ireland (took it as an island) and also Wales into England's total. I know the differences, don't worry.
