I have an old Elvis Chistmas LP my dad gave me a few months back. It is pretty good. Been spinning that recently. I don't really have Xmas albums. The oldies station in Boston pretty much covers the holiday music from Halloween to New Years.
He who forgets will be destined to remember.

    9/29/04 Boston, 6/28/08 Mansfield, 8/23/09 Chicago, 5/15/10 Hartford
    5/17/10 Boston, 10/15/13 Worcester, 10/16/13 Worcester, 10/25/13 Hartford
    8/5/16 Fenway, 8/7/16 Fenway
EV Solo: 6/16/11 Boston, 6/18/11 Hartford,

Can't recall the album, but Chris Cornell does "Ave Maria" and it gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. Dude's got some serious pipes.
  • Jethro Tull Christmas Album - Actually a great album, their best since Stormwatch

Paul Horn - Peace Album - My personal favourite

Bruce Cockburn - Christmas Album - The instrumental / Huron language stuff is musically...incredible!

Andreas Vollunwieder - Midnight Clear - The instrumentals are class

Pearl Jam -Compiled Christmas Singles -Esp. the Strangest Tribe and Let Me Sleep 45's

Alice In Chains - Jar of Flies - Sounds good in the winter, to me

Alvin & The Chipmunks Christmas album.
Bob Dylan (I call it the "Anti-Alvin"). I'm really enjoying this disc, a lot more than I thought I would.
Cartoon Christmas Classics (Songs from Rudolph, Frosty, etc.) Great stuff, although it doesn't have the Heatmiser song...
Frank Sinitra/Bing Crosby/Nat King Cole CD.
    Sarah McLachlan - WInter Song
Flaming Lips - Imagene Piese (unreleased - http://www.myspace.com/imagenepeise)
    Emmet Otters Jug Band Christmas
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

  • I like the Brushfire and Bright Eyes albums - my kids love them.

  • Holiday Island by Jimmy Buffett... Okay, he's kind of goofy, but fuck it. I like him. And it's actually a decent album.

Go Tell it On the Mountain by The Blind Boys of Alabama. I got it because Tom Waits is on it, but it has a bunch of interesting guests (including George Clinton, Me'Shell Ndegéocello, Shelby Lynne, Chrissie Hynde).

Speaking of Tome Waits, his song "Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis". He usually does a "Silent Night" intro when he does it live.

The Bells of Dublin by The Chieftains is really good.

Anything with the classics - Rat Pack, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong - is good.

    Vince Guaraldi is a must.

Yes, this. The only other album you need is Oscar Peterson's:

Everything else just falls a bit short.

Well, I'll make an exception for the Waitresses' Christmas song.
